Is it possible Bobby is waiting to see what happens with his contract situation rather than being hurt?

I suppose it could be possible, but so highly improbable as to be borderline impossible. These people are experienced professionals, there is no milage in those kind of tactics. The kind of mind games you infer are more likely in the lower leagues, but elite players are multi millionaires and are already more than comfortable for the rest of their lives.

Another ageing player who is becoming injury prone and we want to offer him a new contract!

We have really lost the plot, we already have the likes of Ox and Keita taking up a fortune in wages but we can’t offload because they are so injury prone.

The club is becoming a bit shambolic.

Jota is not out of contract this summer which was kind of my point and not as often he has two big ones . Bobby's are more regular and muscle related nearly every time

      We're not learning any lessons.

Miner I can get behind of he's stays with a view to moving to the coaching staff. But not at the expense of other midfield spots.

There is an argument to be had that were hanging onto Henderson too long a well without having his replacement already here.

Short memories some folk. Bobbi was arguably our best player before the WC.

      Players get injuries it happens.

Were just having an unlucky spell.

Yes he was, the problem is, he used to never get injured and now it seems more and more he's picking up these small knocks keeping him out of a game or two here, a game or two there. But of course, most of our players get injured with the exception of Salah so maybe it's not the players, maybe it's the training/scheme or the medical staff?

Agree but to offer him a long term deal is unwise at best, madness at worst. He's regularly picked up injuries over his time here.

That would be of really poor character by Bobby....Coutinho-esque, and i don't see him doing that, nor Jürgen allowing it.

Still, he's gone this summer anyway as we already have 5 players up front.

Nah man. Hes worth his weight in gold when fit. He has only been out for a few games with this injury. I bet he still plays 30odd games thsi season.

One year contract extension makes more sense than some of the previous ones we have handed out.

And room to get a decent fee should we look to sell.

The previous two season he was on decline and I used to put him in the limelight but this year he has showed that he still got it. My issue with him is that in the last three season this year's include is his fitness. He never was that type of player but he is prone to injuries in his latter stage of his career.

I would keep him because he will be still very useful either by playing 60 minutes or coming on fresh, licking his lips seeing tired defenders.
