They've been thrown in at the deep end very early on in their careers - I simply can't get angry at their mistakes when they are that young. And yet I fear for their development in that they are expected to develop alongside seniors like Lovren.

When you have such inexperience in this position (as well as crazy on the other side) someone in that midfield 3 should be told without exception that they are sitting and protecting but it doesn't happen. The number of times I seen Henderson charging around into the final 3rd and he in theory is supposed to be the sitter....it's madness.
This group, and I've felt this for a long time just aren't very clever, they don't have a feel for games and how to manage them it's all boom or bust and it's really wearing thin seeing the same failings time and time and time again

I think therein lies the problem... the ones they have to play alongside doesnt instill confidence nor provide clear direction.
I have no problem with playing either TAA or Gomez as they are very promising young defenders, we need to sort out the CB position though.

I mean even Fergie played those Da Silva boys at a young age, and while prone to mistakes, they were sucessful for the most part coz they had Rio/Vidic, etc alongside them.

I definitely wouldnt write off the young boys, however when our defence is so leaky, you do miss the professionalism and solidity of a Clyne.

Clyne now able to train in the gym. I think the team has missed him more than I expected it would. Hope he can continue on to make a full recovery, but we're probably still looking at December or January at the earliest.

We've missed him a lot, people were very premature in writing him off. He's our best right back by miles.

Jesus, when does he return? It feels like he's gone for 55 years.

Not sure, he's been suffering a back injury, last time Klopp spoke about him was the start of September.

All very cloak and daggers around this injury which has kept him out for so long.

Something not quite right about this one.

Why can't anybody accept anything at face value anymore, klopp said that is a relapse that can happen with back injuries

In which case whats the big deal in letting everyone know what is the exact injury, all very vague and dismissive makes me suspicious - maybe just me.

Backs are a complete mystery to Doctors.
They can only correctly diagnose in about 25%-30% of cases, usually when something shows up on a scan (herniated discs for instance).
So assuming the scans show nothing, they have at most a 30% chance of a correct diagnosis, which might climb if they are sending him to the best specialists.

I had all this from my GP a few years back, when I was frustrated they couldn't give me a proper diagnosis.
What eventually fixed it? Time, rest, and not had a problem since.

Just one of those things, nothing to be suspicious about.

I know its a back injury and we were told it will be a couple of weeks initially then he is left out of the CL squad and now apparently has had a set back.
I think its a lot more serious than the club are letting on.

      There's a joke in there somewhere 😁

"How many specialists does it take to tell you it's not a big problem change a light bulb?"

Only one but you gotta believe them. 😉

Seriously tho: why 'travel the world', seeing "specialists" for nothing big? Something must have been lost in translation methinks. 😊

Strange isn't it we have few players out for back injury since this season start.

IF we sort out the VvD deal (get him in) in January then I won't too worry about Clyne absent. By the way I'm with all support of him but not his big fan, and I'm delighted with the current development of TAA with Gomez ready to slot in at the right fullback.

      Get well soon Nathaniel, YNWA

Hmm... I'm pretty sure that makes no difference, whatsoever, to be fair.

He's still travelling the world, visiting specialists, just to find out if it ["the setback"] is "nothing big". 😕

      Sounds ominous.

3 months added to what he's already been out means an extended and probably gentle recovery time, be lucky if he plays for us again this season by the sounds of it.

At least next summer he'll be like a new signing  :f_tongueincheek:

      Swift recovery Nat,

      YNWA.

Hope he gets back to full fitness.  I think that as promising as the two young lads are, he has been sorely missed and is a big step up as a defender.
