His fitness regime must be on point to come in after zero games and play like that.
      Fair play.

I bet he is feeling it this morning though.

Any info if he has been on the reserve games with unofficial minutes prior to this? Salute to him if he came in to play without minutes under his belt.

Was it just me or did he have a really good game? Nothing against Trent but Clyne certainly made a case to get more starts.

      Really KK?

Clyne has never been a superstar and never will be but heā€™s steady, has a good engine and doesnā€™t give much away defensively. Given how he played quite bizarre that heā€™s 4th choice RB being TAA, Gomez (who given his injury record shouldnā€™t be playing full back) and Milner

Yes really...unless your on about having a post deleted that was in response to the square root of absolutely nothing at all.
And youā€™ve just said yourself heā€™s 4th choice which is what I said, so itā€™s good to see you agree.

Clyne isn't 4th choice. He was injured for a long time. Klopp brought him back earlier than he would have because of the situation with injuries. It looks like he's just about ready now, which is just as well with TAA being out. Gomez is a center back and Milner a midfielder, they were really Clynes backup.

Mate he played Milner at RB against Bournemouth and would have played him there again against Utd if he hadnā€™t pulled up. With TAA 1st pick and Gomez haven filled in for him otherwise until he got injured despite Clyne not having had any fitness issues Iā€™m aware of this season how is that not 4th choice?

Edit - he was injured at the start of Dec so you could be right

Official website mentions Clyne's injuries and Klopp said Clyne was not playing because of injuries, but that changed because he is fit now and TAA is injured.

      https://www.liverpoolfc.com/amp/news/first-team/330430-klopp-liverpool-manchester-united-milner-clyne

ā€œ[He is] As ready as possible. Clyney is a high-class player,ā€ Klopp continued.

ā€œHe didnā€™t play for a while, thatā€™s true, he was injured and we had other options in the position. Thatā€™s how life sometimes is, itā€™s not really fair but it was the situation.

ā€œBut he trained most of the time without any complaints. In the last two to two-and-a-half weeks he had a couple of problems, but heā€™s available now. Heā€™s fine. Physically heā€™s ready - I asked him and he said ā€˜yeah, the adrenaline will helpā€™.

ā€œThe next option, Rafa Camacho, I wouldā€™ve taken that as well, itā€™s a good option and heā€™s on the bench. So as long as we have options, all good.ā€

Whether you think itā€™s bizarre or not, you still admit to him being 4th choice.

He had a good game but I doubt it changes anything for him at the club, weā€™ve seen Migs and Moreno both have good games in the past but it changes nothing for them either.
I wouldnā€™t be shocked to see Milly go RB on Friday.

Clyne is a specialist RB and when fit a good one so until Trent is fit I think he is a shoe in and it gives Trent time to get himself right

I think I am in the minority where I think Clyne is a good option and better defensively than TAA. Shame he is off.
no, it's a baffling loan. We needed him in the first half of the season, we may need him in the second.

      See ya later Clyney.

Klopp must be happy with what he's got, for now. Not the first time we've left ourselves a little bare.

I donā€™t understand this one at all... weā€™re stretched thin enough at the back as it is. Unless Gomez is making freakish strides in returning from injury. And even at that I donā€™t get it.

Why loan him? Why not just sell altogether if youā€™re going to do that, heā€™s not exactly a young kid looking to improve.

I have become a lot more accustomed to trusting the club on transfers lately, so Iā€™m willing to trust that there is someone else lined up or someone from the academy is getting the call up.

But all in all, with FA Cup, league and Champions League, all hopefully until May, why would you let go of such a reliable player?

Milner, Fabinho or Hoever as cover for TAA until Gomez returns.

talk of Lallana and Sturridge going out on loan too it all seems weird when you add Solanke to that list.
Are they making way for a couple of signings?

So a 16 year old kid, and 2 midfielders?
Have to be honest, I donā€™t want to see Gomez playing there at all.

Yeah just been reading that, I know nothing about Hoever so I look forward to that. Milner would put in a shift as CEO if he had to, you know what youā€™ll get and that will be fine. Fabinho started out at RB did he not? Iā€™m sure the plan is more solid than I can fathom... I just really donā€™t like the idea of weakening the squad now.

Thatā€™s true, never thought of that.

This probably means Trent isnā€™t going to see midfield for a while too.
