Another defender who emerged from the shadows last season, he never really stood out at u18s but he made it look effortless at u21s. A lot of us had and still have high hopes for Big Lloyd Jones but this kid is even better. He's big, strong, very athletic and loves the ball at his feet, bringing it out of defense effortlessly.
He made the move up to the u21s last season and trained at Melwood most of the time. It'll be tough for him to get games with the 1st team this season but unlike Jones he's not going on loan, so if needed he can be called up.
Daniel Cleary is a Republic of Ireland youth international centre-back.
Cleary is an aggressive defender who has strength in abundance.
The youngster is also a gifted ball player and can carry possession from the back to help open up pockets of space for his teammates to exploit.
Clearly will be part of the U21 squad for the 2014-15 season.
