Enjoyable game, but starting to understand why Lallana has struggled to become a first team regular. Like Maxi before him he is a very talented player but disappears in games. Needs to do much more if he is to earn a regular place.

Milner was my m.o.t.m. Did everything I expected from him and controlled the game well.

I saw Milner got one. Who scored the other?

A nice game, decent opposition. I like our movement, if you add Coutts and Firminio to the mix then we start to look very potent. I'm actually starting to think Ings might be a decent signing for us and be able to make the step up.

I'm not that concerned that Lallana disappears in games so long as he scores a worldly in each one ;D

Just got home from the game and watching it on tv.  Really enjoyed the game, don't know how it comes across on the tv, but Suncorp is a fantastic stadium.  It is funny but even after having been to 500+ games before moving to Oz, YNWA still has that special feeling.

I thought it was a good run out - the Roar are a good footballing side - but the difference in quality was obvious I thought.

Quite impressed with Gomez, who looks raw but seems to have lots of talent.
Milner added some grit to the middle, and I think he will be a great signing.
Lallana was ok, great goal and the pre season will make a big difference to him.
Ibe looked like he had a point to prove when he came on.
Ings worked very hard and was a bit unfortunate with the nice turn in the first half.

Think it could be very interesting when we get our Brazilian lads back.

      It was bloody cold though.

I wonder why Tex or Markovic wasn't used. Would've been nice to see them on and add that pace & creativity through the middle.

With a squad of 30 though, not everybody is going to get minutes in every game. They're probably being rested for the next game.

Is that the unexciting, non-talented, underwhelming, etc. James Milner displaying some creativity? ;D

Couldn't see the game, but been reading through the posts here. Good to see Lallana get on the scoresheet again. He's a good player and I think will prove it this year if he can find a level of consistency.

We've also got Swindon the day after the Finland game I think mate but I have a feeling that's more as a thank you to them for taking 3 of our lads on loan for the coming season.

I'd guess a youth sqaud for that with a few who don't travel to Finland.

Seems like a nice tight schedule given all the moaning about it earlier this summer.

I'd say so too Si.  There'll probably be a behind closed doors one too sometime between Swindon and Stoke.

Joe Gomez looked the nuts. He was brilliant. The crowd took to him very quickly.

Milner and Ibe were impressive too.

Ings looks complete sh*te to be honest. In training and watching the past two matches he seems well off when he's asked to play football in front of the defence.

Brisbane gave us a good run out. We'll be better off for that game.

      Now off to Adelaide!

Was it just me or did I see that Martin and Sakho seem panicked in the defence. Just saw the 1st half of the Brisbane game. Gomes looks like boss. His overall ball composure is second to none, just needs to improve the final output and I believe we just got a gem.

On to the second half, and PS I also thing Danny Ings is sh*t but a good squad player to have in the fold.
