Malaysia XI 1:1 Liverpool Pre, in game & post match discussion.
      Jul 21, 2015 04:23:59 pm

A seven-hour flight carried the Reds north west from Adelaide to the fourth destination of their summer trip around the world.

It has been a hugely successful tour so far, with a 2-0 victory against Adelaide United at the Adelaide Oval making it three wins out of three for Brendan Rodgers' side.

More than 100,000 fans watched Liverpool in action across the two fixtures in Australia, which followed another memorable welcome for the club in Thailand.

Next up is a stay in Kuala Lumpur, where the players will again participate in a series of supporter and community events ahead of a friendly match.

That game, against a Malaysia XI, will take place at the enormous Bukit Jalil National Stadium on Friday.

Fans can also tune in to the full 90 minutes live on LFCTV and LFCTV GO.

Looking forward to this game, played on my birthday and hope we win again... :kop5cf8koxp6:  I've enjoyed these pre-season games very much, I know it doesn't mean much to some but for me it's all about getting the fitness up and seeing how the new boys are bedding in, another victory would be lovely  ;D

Anyone else noticed how SSN were highlighting the differences in the number of fans for the didn't Clubs on tour yesterday?

It's almost as though they've only just realised we've got a lot of fans world wide and it's a bit of a shock to them  ;D

The pictures are conclusive mate but they were out on the streets in Malaysia quizzing the fans on how much they knew about the Club.

How many titles we had, who the all time leading goal scorer is and how many European Cups we'd won.  They were even interviewing a local journalist on why there's so many Reds in the Country and are they genuine fans or just plastics?

I mean, come on why be so surprised at the support, it fu**ed me off tbh.

The Malaysian supporters never let us down & turn up in numbers to back our team.

      YNWA Malaysia.

Another win would be nice and hopefully we can continue with the winning streak into the new league campaign.

Ings has a bit of the crazy eyes about him ;D. Think he'll end up being a really good pickup for us, if not this year, certainly after that.

I saw that tweet about Chirivella making it 1-0 but had no clue it was a senior game. It's good to see that some of the Academy lads got a run out with some of the first team players. It seems they played very well too. Would like to see Ojo and Chirivella get some more game time before the end of pre-season. They could save us a lot of money if they develop right.

Liverpool FC romp to 7-0 win against Felda United with Danny Ings hat trick

Danny Ings bagged a second-half hat-trick as a Liverpool XI romped to a 7-0 victory over local side Felda United at Kuala Lumpur’s Bukit Jalil National Stadium.

At Brendan Rodgers’ request, the open training session in front of around 5,000 fans was transformed into a 30-minute per half game against the Malaysian Premier League side in order to give playing time to those on the fringes of his squad.

It was a team packed full of youth and with a sprinkling of experience with Ryan Fulton in goal and a back four of Andre Wisdom, Kolo Toure, Mamadou Sakho and Joe Maguire.

The inclusion of Sakho suggests that Dejan Lovren will start alongside Martin Skrtel in Friday’s final tour match against the Malaysian Selection.

Ings played up front with Sheyi Ojo, Pedro Chirivella, Jordan Rossiter, Joao Carlos Teixeira and Lazar Markovic behind him.

The Reds took the lead inside four minutes as Ings’ backheel released Maguire and his cross was expertly converted by Chirivella.

Markovic’s cool lob made it 2-0 and before the break Ojo slotted home.

In the second half it was a procession. Ings found the net twice in quick succession with some clincial finishing.

Teixeira then delighted the fans with a stunning 40-yard chip over the stranded keeper.

Ings completed his treble with the last kick of the half when he buried a chance into the bottom corner.

Liverpool: Fulton, Wisdom, Toure, Sakho, Maguire, Ojo, Chirivella, Rossiter, Teixeira, Markovic, Ings

Hope this doesn't mean Brendan sees Lovren as a starter vs Stoke.

The answer seems to be in the 2nd paragraph..

Sakho has been playing a lot this pre-season..probably managing his game time.
