Of course he's good enough in the simple fact both he and Mac elevated our midfield play back into the CL last season and this season back to the title.

I wouldn't take much notice of someone like you who rated Ali as 5/10 in yesterday's match. Quite simply, you see things wrong.

For some people they are incapable of understanding that players have drops in form

It doesn’t mean that they are all of a sudden not good enough

Not sure if the 10 role suits him, think he's better coming from deeper

I'm not saying Dom isn't good enough to play for us. He certainly is. I just wonder if there is a different way to use him. He's wonderful in the press, but leaves a lot to be desired going forward. I just think he has the skill set to play multiple positions and he keeps Macca from playing his

I've similar opinion on Szobo. Macca a lot better suit further up the pitch.

He is a midfielder , not a right back or a defender

An attacking midfielder who presses superbly and a great engine

Maybe that explains why when some players have a dip in form they are suddenly not good enough - some people are simpletons

Dom has had a good season and is one of many reasons why we are about to win the league

Not being THAT good and being good ENOUGH are 2 different things though. I don’t see him being THAT good and I certainly don’t see him as this 60m creative force he was bought it to be.

And yes Ali was a 5/10 in my opinion, maybe a 6 at most. It’s tough to give higher when you have no shot of note to save and you get away with one on a disallowed goal, shock horror fans can disagree on how one player performed.

First off i didnt say he wasnt good enough. Dom has had a good season, but as a 10 he has been hit or miss in front of goal all season. But goals have dried up for us as the season has gone on and by brining in different players, it reshuffles things. We will bring in new players. If we bring in another midfielder, it will probably be a guy who sits deeper and that will allow Macca to go further forward and create. Or, we bring in a separate 10 who gives you the best of both worlds. Atm, and for basically for a season and a half, Dom has been lacking creativity going forward.

All I suggested was Dom ia versatile enough that he could be used in a multitude of different ways to help our club. But when someone on here has a different opinion than you, you typically have this way of slagging them off as "not supporting" the guys or not recogning a drop in form. I agree with a lot of the stuff you say on here, and I appreciate your level headness on most subjects. But the superiority complex gets old after a while.

Shankly moved guys around. Paisley moved guys around. The same with Klopp. Managers do this. Atm, Valverde plays full back for RM, and hes one of the beat mids in world football for most. Why is it crazy to suggest that maybe he could be used elsewhere?

Because it wasn't his idea. I love Dom, he's a really good player when he's on, but I will say I have more confidence in Macca scoring on any given day than Dom. He likely needs to add goals to his game for the position he plays. Not sure about playing him at RB....but maybe as a deeper midfielder I could see.....the kind of influence Klopp wanted Trent to have when he was inverted. Nothing wrong with discussing it though, it's an interesting thought to kick around even if it's not likely to happen.

I didn’t say you said that Dom wasn’t good enough 🤷‍♂️ that post was aimed at the poster that did say he wasn’t good enough

Valverde is a deep lying workhorse who has played right back multiple times

Some players are “versatile” by their nature - Milner a perfect example , Endo etc

But Dom is very much someone who should be in the higher third of the pitch and maybe a bit wider but certainly not a full back

Managers do move players around - Slot has

Again, I think that Dom has all the attributes ON PAPER. I've never seen him play there, so who knows, maybe he sucks. But it potentially could be a way to solve a problem the FSG way, rather than spending big on so many positions in one window. I think Dom is a guy who contributes massively to our team this season, butin and around the box he hasn't produced as much as I think he need. I do think Macca is productive in that area, and just wonder if brining in a new deeper playing mid would help free up Macca in his more natural role. Honestly, I get excited when Harv comes on, as i think offensively he suits our front 3 more. I havent thought of Dom dropping back, like FL said.

I just want to see goals added upfront, as we seem to need them in the big games where we stall through the middle ( Cup final, PSG, Forest, etc.)

At times Dom appears to be stuck between two roles - the role I think could work is a more a false 9 or as the 8 but don’t think he is a 10
      Frankly, Mr Shankly

His work rate in the middle of the field disrupts opposition ability to score and win games against us. He's one of the reasons why we are hard to beat.
