Trent is just a natural fit in midfield. I'm afraid we need to sign a new first choice RB, because Trent needs to play in midfield! He is our most creative player.

We might operate like City do. When we are on the attack, he moves to the middle of the park and DCM covers for him.

His stunning goal against my country was so typical Trent but our keeper was outside his area.

I am from Malta, our Maltese midfield is not class but Trent played naturally as if he has been a midfielder all his life.

He is more than capable to play the position permanently and effect the match with his technique and super vision.

Hope that he is given the role even against Italy.

Don’t be telling Billythered he’s a midfielder Clint.   :lmao:

The way he glides about and pings perfect balls for fun.

      He really is word class.

I've said it before and I'll say it again....He's bored at right back, he has too big a football brain to be confined back there. For years we've seen the best of him when he bombs on further up the field. It's increasingly obvious he doesn't have a defensive mindset. Now he's had the taste for it at club and International level I can't see him going back, if JK puts him back there, I don't think it would be long before Trent would be looking to move on....Square pegs and all that. Having said that I think Jürgen has seen enough to play him where we get the most out of him.

Well. There's the 100M midfielder sorted.
Just need to sign a player that can play RCB and RB.

There's absolutely no doubt it has saved the club money and a  midfield signing. You can probably get away with just one more midfielder coming in now...

Trent playing in midfield could give a bit of weight to the Pavard links maybe?

I like what I seen of him in that advanced role last night albeit against porr opposition.

Trent in the 8 alongside MacAllister is an interesting thought

Will start at right back and then when we have the ball will move inside to pick up the ball and ping it around. When defending he will drop in , it’s how he played during the last 5/6 games

I’d still like to see two more signings but Khuram and a more attacking player now rather than two players that are 8s. More important to sign another CB.

This is one of those ones that doesn't need a lot of thought, but seems to continue to be over thought by some on here, and perhaps Klopp too 🤔

TAA could be a very good attacking RB, we've seen it before and he could certainly hit those highs again this season with the proper midfielders to protect him and allow him space to get forward. However, he's a midfielder who plays RB. It's that simple. And as a midfielder I really could see him taking his game to another level. The last 10 games we saw what he could do with more of the ball. However, he still had a lot to think about when you consider he had to retreat from spaces in the middle of the park, back to his RB position. Why not allow him to shed that extra burden and allow him to what he does as well as anyone in the world, and that's pass the ball all around the park and create chances.

Klopp needs to not over think this. There are some very capable RBs on the market. I'm not sure there is a midfielder like TAA out there though

Unless the boss is going to put more faith in Nat Phillips, then I agree we need cover at CB. There's a fair bit of uncertainty about Virgil's form, and whether he'll fully regain his pre injury authority....especially as there's a bit of concern about Gomez and to some extent Matip.

Maybe. Or maybe he will play in midfield full time and we need to sign RB cover.

Think it’s two more to come in

Thuram is one imo - maybe Kone as the back up

And a CB - left sided

If Matip leaves we could see one more come in , maybe a young CM

Given the more popular links atm,
Thuram and Veiga would be great.

I don’t know anything about the Dutch CB linked.

No idea about the Dutch lad but he seems to fit the bill for what’s been reported rhe club wants

Thuram I think is a very close

Not seen much of Veiga but has a release clause

He scored two goals against Barca in the last game of the season to keep Celta Vigo up.
