Interesting to listen to his post match analysis. He said the press and the high line go hand in hand, can’t do one without the other. If you were to read between the lines, it sounds like maybe the midfield and the forwards pressing wasn’t what it should have been and that exposed us in the back. Klopp actually somewhat alluded to this as well with his post match remarks, talking about the spacing in the second half not being right.

Because they clearly want to promote up Bradley

Surely that’s a good thing bringing young players through

Only if the lad is good enough rather than it being a cost cutting issue.

Last year you told me we didn't need to spend properly on a 2nd choice right back because we bought Calvin Ramsay for a packet of Quavers who I told you would not be ready.

In a season Trent struggled the lad turned out to play 0 to 1 PL game maybe?

While i see it has SOME benefits and we have been unbeaten in 12 or 13, it seems to take away from so many other players, and we a so vulnerable down the right.

Teams target us down that side.

I'm not sure all of the pros weigh out the cons.

I don't even think a LCB would fix those issues.

We need to just get a right back and let Trent be part of a midfield rotation / back up RB.

edit: of course i could be completely wrong, ;D

One of my biggest issues with this "new" role is he legs into midfield as soon as we have the ball rather than just stepping into the space naturally, whereas beforehand he would end up midfield (much higer up the pitch) and it'd be a natural progression for him.

Seems a mental issue that he knows he's been asked to get into midfield so he sprints there rather than allowing the play to develop and ending up there eventually.

Why ? It’s working, even more so now he’s got proper cover, last season that wasn’t there cos Hendo nor Fab hadn’t the legs to do it, with Endo now in we have , whether it’s him or Konate shifting across,  Billy is right in a sense that he might go a tad too early, however, as we seen once or twice Vs Bournemouth speed was key in that everyone moved up together, and we had three/ four runners joining up with Mo, Jota & Diaz, creating a six + Vs four attack, that’s a hell of a weapon to unleash on any defensive unit, globally never mind in a league game,

Don’t forget, it’s only our second outing, after another two or three, and we’ll see how everyone is tuned in, I can’t be the only one impressed with this Red Juggernaut that Jürgen is creating, am I ??

He stunk today. They targeted him for sure and that had him nervy, but he made Megan Rapinoe look like 18/19 Mane today

He needs to stay at RB and get better cover, or just move to the midfield. No more moving back and forth. He doesn't have the work rate for it. He's to casual off the ball. Hasn't looked remotely close to how he finished last season (which was phenomenal)

I know he needs to take responsibility himself but his performance for me showed a lack of genuine leadership in the team at the minute, someone should have went over to him and said get your sh*t together, relax and stop getting riled up by Gordon and the crowd.

Obviously everyone was buzzing last night with the way the result came about. 80+ minutes we had no points, 94 minutes we had all 3....and those 3 points might just be the points that win us the title...Who knows? But in the cold light of day it can't go unsaid that we dodged a bullet there. Nunez's goals allowed us to paper over an enormous crack. As others have said Trent had a bit of a mare. For me he seems to be struggling to hold his concentration...(for what it's worth it's something I've always been prone to.) A week ago he lets a ball bounce off his leg...goal conceded...yesterday the ball runs under his foot....goal conceded. He simply has to focus more on the game, for the full 90+ minutes.
On his day there's no one better, he is a natural talent and he has some great players around him....Just cut out the brain farts and perhaps we can secure 3 points without so much heart pounding drama.

He was immense against Villa. His upside is taken for granted but some of the passes he makes are just outrageous. Cut villa open time and time again.

dont know if there has been another player who faces so much scrutiny when he was getting to the touchline putting in crosses he was slagged off for not being back in defence 5 seconds later . He plays to the managers instructions and if he didnt he wouldnt play the lad is just an incredible talent and whilst he is on the pitch there is always a chance of a goal .
Now he is being asked to play almost two positions it is up to his team mates to cover and I think Matip did that quite well yesterday.

Steve Warnock did a nice piece of analysis on MOTD2 last night regards Trent's positioning yesterday. He highlighted that rather than stepping into midfield he was actually playing more like a CB when we were in possession. This didn't limit his ability to play telling passes but did mean we were better equipped defensively when we lost the ball. It was a good piece of punditry and an interesting kink in the way Trent is being asked to play. It might be well be a temporary adjustment to cover for Konate's injury (and worries about Matips pace/mobility).

He is doubtful for Wolves, even if he is fit, if I was Klopp I would put him on the bench just for the emergency and play Joe there.

He is needed for the longer run.
