If true, it's a lot of money but it's better than losing him for nothing and if Madrid still decide they want him next summer and happy to pay silly money, all the better.

Top ranked players are paid obscene amounts of money these days, and as not one penny of that money comes from me, I generally couldn't care less. The Premier league is way over hyped, and so are most players in it..... at least half the games any given weekend are drab

But you should care. Everything we (& every other club) do financially now has a greater impact than ever and dictates what you may or may not be able to do later on. For example Utd having the 2nd highest wage bill and finishing 8th, that can't happen to us because sooner or later they'll end up like Forest or Everton.

Our Club, like any other has to pay the market price to stay competitive. Neither of us can change that. As I said I don't pay one single penny into LFC's coffers, and how they choose to spend their money is up to them. The Man U example you presented is far more complex than just wages.
The Club has been poorly run for years, I agree that player recruitment and their coresponding wages are a factor, but there are far deeper issues in play.
If, LFC had a policy of paying players less than other European ranked sides, then you may have a valid point...but that's not the case.
The Cause and affect relating to wages is exaggerated .

Its standard these days.  ;D especially if scouts right about him.

Scouts? More like the girl guides over at Old Trafford.

The more I think about it the more I’m convinced Trent isnt going anywhere, like Ste, he’s steeped in Scouse blood and to him nowhere’s else matters, all this speculation is simply because his current deal has entered its final year, and that would have to happen eventually wouldn’t it, Time stands still for no man, so this eventuality was inevitable, same as Virgil and/or any other player approaching contract expiry dates,

And why would he go elsewhere, the grass isn’t always greener, he has everything he needs right where he’s already at, money isn’t his priority, nor trying to play regularly, nor seeking a higher level of football, he’s already playing in the best league on the planet, for one of the best clubs on the same planet, only the lure of one of the Spanish giants could turn his head, however, that maybe the attraction from players outside of Merseyside and we all kinda accept that, but when you’re a homeboy, you have a very different perspective,

now I don’t know what Trent perhaps has on his mind, maybe he does fancy a go in a foreign land, and maybe he does have aspirations of plying his trade in Catalonia or for Los blancos, I honestly can’t see it, I don’t think Liverpool would stand in his way if indeed he felt like a change, and none of us can complain either !!

For me he’s staying, after all, he’s our future Captain, now tell me, which other Scouser destined to be club Captain, gave that up to play for some Johnny Foreigner, please answer in the top right hand corner of a postage stamp!!

The grass isn't always greener on the other side, so to speak. Not many players have left the club and seemingly bettered themselves.

Aye he's not going anywhere. He's vice captain. And wants to be captain.

Virgin Will be off in a few years maybe sooner who knows.  Then Trent will be captain of LFC.

People just believe what they want to believe don't they, no matter which f**ker it's from? So straight away they see something flash up that Trent's penned a new deal and in their fickle little minds they react without doing any due diligence, taking their word for gospel. Lost hope trying to get through to these people, it's a dead end.

Yeah might need him back off his hols first to sign it though, that's if they're still allowed a holiday.

Do you hear the locals moaning? No!!
