How many assists for the season now? Last nights was the best of the lot.

Great to have another quality local player in the line up. Can’t believe he’s only 20!!

Already among the world's best in his position at such an young age. The quality of his delivery is exceptional. He must be so proud of his performance last night. Loved seeing him in the changing room after the game, looking astonished and then kissing the badge.

Loads of people on here were calling him to be dropped not too long ago?

F**k that - he has been sensational this season and let’s not forget the power of a local boy playing for his club, it has a massive impact on the pitch.

This boy is everything good about Liverpool as a club and city.

Special special player who is already worth £100m and is quite possibly the best right back in the world.

I was calling for him to be dropped, because defensively he was getting a bit loose and we had Gomez coming back up to speed. But I think at this point, even when Trent is having a defensive lull, he needs to be on the pitch for his crossing, creation and attacking.

Last night, he was excellent defensively as well. So maybe missing out on the first leg got through to him. Because he upped his game. He was spectacular last night and I'm still in awe watching that 4th goal over again and again.

Excellent quick thinking. Guys, I don't know if you know but after all players went in the dressing room, he went round Anfield alone clapping our fans!

Best thing about his display was how he defended. Learnt his lessons from the first leg and that's all you could ever want from a young talent.

He has played brilliantly lately, that corner completely bamboozled the Barcelona defence, to set up the winner last night.

      Oh yeah :D

I meant from recent weeks where some wingers have been giving him the run around. Thought he dealt with Alba bombing forward brilliantly.

Agreed was immense. The second assist is getting all the attention for the sheer audacity of it but the 1st for Gini was absolutely brilliant as well

The best thing about his performance - for me - wasn’t the corner for the 4th (which was brilliant by the way!).

It was the way he won the ball back after a sh*t header to no-one for the 2nd.

More than anything else that summed up this Liverpool team to me.

he has been criticised for his defending but I saw him right at the end of the game chasing and harry their players he was just superb and knackered. I loved the way he walked through the ground after the whistle

Is there a better right back in world football? Astonishing to get 15+ assists at such a high level at only 20 years of age.

the experts keep pointing out his defensive capabilities. At 20 who wants a defensive minded player. Just compare him for a moment with Ashley Young the difference is actually impossible to measure.
Him and Andy Robbo are just incredible players it would cost us £100 mil to get anywhere near their quality into this team.
Watching him with his mum and dad walking around Anfield just make me proud to see him in a Red Shirt

I think he's better defensively than he's given credit for.

But then again, who cares? He's made more assists this season than some attacking midfielders do in years. Every attacking fullback is always harshly criticised for their supposedly suspect defensive abilities, for the very good reason that it's impossible to do both things to the same standards. I'm confident in TAA defensively though, and I'm awe of his delivery going forward.

It's even sweeter knowing that he's a local lad who loves the club.
