Unfortunately he wasn’t the only one to put in a poor performance. Only difference is that Trent has the assists to help rectify that.

Gonna be the crux with him, is his poor defense worth his assists. Glad it’s not up to me to decide.

Think he plays better with Gomez in the middle next to him. Just my opinion.

I think he proved to Klopp today that he can be trusted. He was a big miss in the Nou Camp.

Joe is a fine player but Trent as full back has things in his locker Joe has not.

Defended really well and his use of the ball is incredible.

What a player we have on our hands here. One of the best right backs out there, and its not even his preferred position! While he'll rightly be lauded for his quick thinking assist, his defensive performance tonight was top drawer. Alba didn't get a look in all night.

How many assists for the season now? Last nights was the best of the lot.

I was calling for him to be dropped, because defensively he was getting a bit loose and we had Gomez coming back up to speed. But I think at this point, even when Trent is having a defensive lull, he needs to be on the pitch for his crossing, creation and attacking.

Last night, he was excellent defensively as well. So maybe missing out on the first leg got through to him. Because he upped his game. He was spectacular last night and I'm still in awe watching that 4th goal over again and again.

He didn’t play 1st leg.....was brilliant though real coming of age display
