Then that is something he should be working on, but I get the sense that he's a little bit too happy with himself, I think Roy Keane hit the nail on the head yesterday when he said some of our players are believing their own hype, and that I blame Klopp for, its his job to keep their feet on the ground but I think he's way to much of a softy, a bit like Roy Evans in that respect.

Roy Keane was talking out of his F***ing arse

Stats show his dip in form this season but that’s to be expected as teams work on cutting out his supply.

It’s the midfield who need to compensate.

I’ll put that down to fatigue mate..

We need the midfield to start contributing to goals but that’s going to be difficult whilst play at CB..

Yup the issues we are facing mate can be traced back to the lack of investment, it was always going to catch up eventually despite the miracles of Klopp.

Definitely starting to get back into his stride a little now, we’re unplayable once Trent and Robbo are on it so hopefully we start seeing it week in week out from them both.

I've given Trent a lot of stick this year, and still believe we are where we are this season in large part due to his drop in form, but regardless I thought he put in a great performance against Wolves yesterday. I hope he continues to focus on his defensive play, as he's always been naturally gifted whipping balls in and driving forward. If he can continue putting in those types of shifts when running towards his own goal, we'll have an even better player than the one we all know next season.

Lads had a big knock today missing out on the England team.

I know most here will be happy about it but from his personal point of view that will be tough to take.

I think he's been the victim of circumstances this season personally, like most of our team.

      Didnt realise that.

Im delighted on 2 fronts. Bit of rest for him and a slap in the face, the kind of slap that wakes people up to realise your past doesnt count for the present.

This might be the best thing for him long term

Yeah let’s take of the rose tinted glasses the other 3 have all been in better form consistently this season. Hope he responds to this in the right way and knuckles down.

      Astonishing decision really.

Been poor most of the season but starting to pick it up again in recent weeks.

Hope he uses it as extra motivation to push on.

He's a winner and this is the kind of thing which will make him stronger, prove the doubters wrong.

He needs to remember the Carra mantra

Haha well I think him and Curtis take a bit more stock by it than Carra, though if they continue to treat him like they are doing he might start thinking F**k them.

Klopp came out yesterday in defence of him.

Never got the impression that Southgate fully trusts Trent even when we were winning leagues and in champions league finals he chose Trippier and Walker over him.

A drop off in our results and I think he's took the opportunity to drop him entirely.

Basically I'm not sure Trent will suit a cautious manager. Jürgen on the other hand likes his full backs high and wide in this system.

Trent doesn’t fit England’s boring as F**k ways anyway, probably why, he’d probably take a team of eleven CBs and defensive midfielders if he could.

Lets have it right, he has been the victim of circumstances this season. Losing our protective midfielders has allowed teams to pick him apart defensively in ways teams never could or will again.

Having Fab and Hendo at the back and Thiago as our deepest midfielder was never going to work, the cogs in the machine were taken away and placed in the wrong places and the whole thing broke down.

Finally, we have a centre half partnership that is beginning to blossom, we have Fabinho putting out fires behind the full backs. Hes also starting counter attacks from a much higher position than we ever could for most of this season. Trent is now freed to impact the games and because he and Robbo are not longer our only mode of attack and he is a real threat to teams once again.

He alongside the introduction of Jota and the work Fab was doing behind him, won us that game yesterday.

Simply put if you get the structure around him right, he's the best in the business in his role. This applies for a lot of our players.
