Thought he defended well today. He just needs to be diligent and he can defend fine. Good to see him applying himself to it today.

      Agreed

He also saved our arses in that Final as well...2 thunderous shots on target, in those 6 mins of added time, b4 it went to extra time.

I'm not sure Ali is getting to either of those or at least 1 of them, so thank F**k for Trent!

Can tell he's been working on defensive side of things, his defensive work has been a lot more impressive.

The one area of the pitch we are very light.

Let's hope we are still in the title picture when he returns.

      Big blow for us that.

Don’t think he would have played Sunday anyway so that’s two weeks of the injury covered by the international break at least.

Klopp said weeks though so doesn’t look good for City and the CL quarter finals.

That's a blow. Immediately thinking of his replacement while out. I'd trust Hendo to do a job there but I assume it will be Gomez.

Gomez and Milner to fill in

Hopefully we are starting to do the old Ferguson trick of players getting injured just before friendlies

I was thinking same thing Brian. Obviously Klopp doesn’t want him playing for England, I’d do same thing. Doesn’t really need him for Forest as on paper your through anyway.

Over two weeks till our next game against Watford. Three weeks until Man City - we'll see how it is I suppose. Of course, it's good that he's not under the tutelage of Southgate for the next week or so. That, to be honest, is almost as bad as a hamstring tear and more often than not he comes back with an injury anyhow.

Anyhow, did anyone notice this against Arsenal? Hopefully it's not severe if that's the case.

Why? Did you see him hobble off Wednesday? No.

They would have done a light recovery yesterday, no chance of doing a hammer in that session.

Also are the Engerrrland game friendlies or qualifiers??

Big hit, as that is easily the one position where we don't have equal/similar replacement.

The main thing is being back in 3 weeks for the City game. That is the big test as we can get by without him for the other games.

Disappointing but probably the best time to suffer an injury with FA Cup game (which he wasn't going to play in) and international break so the amount of games missed won't be as much but the focus and hope now is to get him fit for Citeh.
