I know it's the first game of the season and that but that was grim. Don't really know why we persisted with that setup when Benteke was so isolated.

At least we're not 5-0 down though

Not sure about Milner and Hendo for our top choice midfield, especially if it's gonna be like that for the whole season.

Maybe a better fit I'd say. No one is perfect. Messi and Cristiano included.

That was a VERY dull first half. Not playing poorly, but not playing well either. Just rather mundane.

We could use a spark of creativity. I'd love to see Firmino get on, and maybe Ings or Origi to inject some more pace into the attack.

I wasn't expecting us to set the world on fire and we looked out of ideas towards the end, but it hasn't been too bad. We look fairly organised at the back and the new boys in Clyne and Gomez look fairly comfortable. I'm not complaining too much.  Milner looks as committed and professional as ever, glad he laid Adam the noobhead.

We're not offering much from midfield though. Need to get Coutinho on the ball moreand might have to think about getting Lallana out and Firminho on some time in the second half.

Tentative start for me, new players, new season, gotta be patient. United, Chelsea and Tottenham hardly looked on top form yesterday.

Cou has to be stronger not in the game, seems to struggle against physical teams

Milner and Henderson cancelling each other out rather than complimenting, really Milner needs to be freed up as he's looked the most likely to support the attack.

That's what I really don't understand. Both Hendo and Milner are one of the best pressers of the ball with immense stamina, but Rodgers is limiting both players and I feel it's weakening us It just doesn't make sense to me.

Benteke's actually done ok I think. He's got something in his bag for this game I'm sure of it.

F**k me it's the first half of the first game of the season _ it usually takes 12 games for the players to start settling into playing with each other.

We will tweak things at half time and get Benteke more involved.

Have you seen our fixtures, we don't have 12 games for the lads to settle, I think we need 2 strikers today.

I think we are too slow when with the ball, they can recover easily on our player in possession
 Its the first game, and maybe not all are match fit yet. and  stoke players seem more stronger physically

Team is unbalanced, the right has ibe and clyne but the left iis pretty vacant, definitely need a proper dm , wasn't sure but it's obvious, Henderson and Milner are better when they get forward

I do not for the life of me know why people compare Benteke to Carrol, Benteke has proven to be a beast, Carrol was a anomaly, I didn't notice him before we bought him. I totally F***ing noticed Benteke before we bought him.

The guy will say or do anything to instantly undermine efforts even if that is posting sorry sources which is why he is now being watched. Not classy or informative at all that guy.

I'm not taking a swipe at anyone. Don't make an issue out of it.

He is isolated, we are not crossing so well and we are struggling to play in a way that suits him.

We may be able to turn it around and win, but Origi suits our attack better, the way we play.

Agreed in a 3 they could work pressing on, I still think they'd lack the creativity but right now, as you say, they're just sitting back together far too much. Like having 2 marathon runners and entering them in the sprint just a really poor fit right now. To be fair to them both we haven't had enough possession up top for them to move forward too much.

Very disjointed and needs fixing now or I can see us losing.
