An opportunity here to try out our best hope in central defence.

                         Bogdan

           Clyne    Gomez   Sakho   Moreno

                       Lucas     Milner

                          Coutinho

                                   Firmino
                          Benteke

      Personally I'd prefer 11 players.

                            Mignolet

               Skrtel      Sakho      Gomez

      Clyne         Can            Milner        Alberto

                            Coutinho
                Firmino              Benteke

Now what is wrong with that team apart from martin at full back or right side of a three. it has pace in Clyne and Moreno an dit has guile in Couthino and Firmino and strength in Benteke. It is good enough to win most games we play.
How desperate is Brendan for a win or will he play a weakend squad and go for the young team showed character excuse.

It all depends how you view it Walt.

If he played that side and didn't get a result then it affected the Norwich game he will get slaughtered by some.

If he sticks to what he says and plays a different side and doesn't get a result he'll get slaughters but others.

I'm firmly in the ' play a different side camp' as I think he needs to be doing everything he can to get a result at home to Norwich.

Your point does link into my point in another thread though that this season has put him under so much pressure he cannot possible win many fans back no matter what he does.

It will inevitably end up as 5 across the back and Can and Milner have a tendency of going walk about. Without Henderson Lucas is the only player who can make the connection to Coutinho.

Okay if we're going for "squad"

Mignolet (Doesn't really need a rest does he)

                    Can      Sakho      Gomez

      Clyne        Rossiter       Milner          Alberto

                             Coutinho
                     Ibe                   Origi

Thats 6 changes from the team that lost against United.

Much closer to how I'd like to see it mate.

Also I'm firmly in your 3 4 3 camp as we'll although I'd have Can in the three for the next league game with Skrtel and Sakho.

Chance for a few to impress here, hopefully Sakho comes in and impresses so he keeps his place for Sunday. Wouldn't mind a bit of the diamond on Thursday (how many bloody times have we been saying that these last few months?!) with Ibe at the tip of it.

Bogdan; Gomez, Can, Sakho, Moreno; Lucas, Lallana, Milner, Ibe; Origi, Ings.

      Mignolet
      Clyne / Skyrtel / Sakho / Moreno
      Milner / Rossiter / Can / Ibe
      Ings / Origi

Know lots don't agree, but think we need to give squad a chance.
If ever there was a chance to make a play for the PL first XI, now is the time...

Mamadou Sakho is set to make his first appearance of the season in Liverpool’s opening Europa League group game away to Bordeaux on Thursday night.

Divock Origi is set to make his first start for Liverpool following his arrival from Lille, while Alberto Moreno, Jordon Ibe, Kolo Toure and Jordan Rossiter are also in contention.

Captain Jordan Henderson will be absent after flying to America to see a specialist about his heel problem but Philippe Coutinho is available after suspension.

Daniel Sturridge, Adam Lallana and Joe Allen are all back in full training after injury but are still building up their fitness levels. Sturridge is not expected to travel to France.

Goalkeeper Adam Bogdan may have to wait for his Liverpool debut with Simon Mignolet expected to start in goal.

Not too sure about this game tbh, however an opportunity to give, squad players a run out. Feel the Norwich game far more important, as another defeat would see us slip further down the table. However think the Reds are capable of picking something up from this game, that is providing the players turn up on Thursday.

No real fun, thrill and anxiousness in watching the recorded version as you would probabaly know the result already. So best bet is to watch it late night as i myself do the same(Monday night and European nights come at 12.30 AM to 2.00 AM here depending on who we are playing).

So this could well be the line up then..

      Mignolet
      Clyne-Toure-Sakho-Moreno
      Milner-Can-Rossiter
      Ibe-Ings-Origi

Damn, that front line! not like the rest are inspiring though..

Looking forward to this in a nervously apprehensive type of way. Eager to see if Brendan has the balls or the nous to make the necessary changes, and to see if the players are stoked for it.

Going for: Bogdan, Moreno, Sakho, Gomez, Clyne, Rossiter, Can, Milner, Firmino, Benteke, Ings.

Mates, Enrique is not registered to play in Europa League!

Rumours are that Milner and Benteke will be left at Melwood.

      Good.

Then James can practise hitting long balls up to Benteke on his own so we perfect it for Norwich.

I like Brannagan and think we should take a gamble and play him! On a side note, very disappointed Tex is not getting an opportunity in the Europa league group stages, especially with Allen & Hendo injured with Milner possibly being left out.

Rumours are that Milner and Benteke will be left at Melwood.

As for Benteke being left out, I think it would be a positive move IF we play with 2 mobile quick strikers in Ings and Origi. Imagine what Coutinho could do with two hard working strikers that work the channels and run behind their defence more often than a target man would!
As much as I rate Benteke, he is still a target player, so having players like Ings or/and Origi up top would encourage more creativity from our midfielders, and allow us to press more efficiently as well as keep the ball on the deck.
