Girondins de Bordeaux 1-1 Liverpool: In game and Post Match debate
      Sep 17, 2015 04:52:39 pm

LFC‬ warmed up for their UEFA Europa League clash with FC Girondins de Bordeaux with a training session in France last evening.

Starting XI: Mignolet, Gomez, Toure, Sakho, Moreno, Rossiter, Can, Ibe, Lallana, Coutinho, Origi

Subs:  Bogdan, Firmino, Ings, Brannagan, Randall, Cleary, Chirivella

Mamadou Sakho set to captain Liverpool against Bordeaux.

Divock Origi makes his first Liverpool start and Philippe Coutinho returns to the side for the Europa League clash with Bordeaux this evening.

The Reds begin their Group B campaign with the match at the Nouveau Stade de Bordeaux in France.

As confirmed last night, Mamadou Sakho is handed a first appearance of the season in defence as Brendan Rodgers opts for eight changes in total.

In the absence of both Jordan Henderson and James Milner, the Frenchman also skippers the team against their Ligue 1 opponents.

The only thing I'm worried about at the moment is the melt down is we lose, so come on redmen do us proud and lets have a win.

      2-1 for us.

Anyone who scores for us will be his first in a European cup under our name.

If Brendan gets a win tonight it's just going to be a stay of execution for a lot Daz, he's in the 'damned if I do' camp and probably will be for some time.

Personally I want a win, any kind of win, swiftly followed by a good solid run just so us fans can sense unity again.

Either Brendan doesn't dislike Sakho as much as I thought or he's taking the opportunity to put him in the shop window as Captain :)

Not many "BIG" players in that side we really can't afford to go behind tonight because who is going to drag the team back into the game.
Looks like it will be down to the magic man again.

Like i said in the other thread i can see 3 at the back for this:

                            Mignolet
            Gomez     Toure     Sakho
        Ibe                                      Moreno
                       Can    Rossiter
          Coutinho                 Lallana
                              Origi

Would mean ibe and moreno adding the width.

Personally think it's a ploy to try and get him to sign a new contract. I see Pearce of the Echo stating that only a run in the team will do that, so it doesn't seem that convincing a ploy.

I think we'll win tonight Bordeaux are without 4 of their best players by all accounts and they've been struggling badly. As much as a win we need a performance.

If nothing else it will be nice to see some of the other lads, I'd say they might have a chance of winning a first team place against Norwich but Brendan probably has that team picked already.

I don't like the idea of 3-5-2 but it sounds better than having an isolated striker I guess.

Looks like 433 which will no doubt turn into 451 or 4321 ... either way 1 upfront.

Cant say im happy about the team selection or brendans attitude to a competition that dangles a cl place for the winner. Seems like he is more interested in saving his 'stars' for the mighty norwich on sunday. 1 upfront again .... doing my nut in.

In all honesty ... we need to win a game of football ... and quick. There are alot of new names this season and chopping and changing for the fecking sake of it makes no sense to me whatsoever.
