Liverpool 1:1 Norwich. In game & post match debate.

Anfield waiting for Liverpool to find our feet

Starting XI: Mignolet, Clyne, Skrtel, Sakho, Moreno, Lucas, Can, Milner, Coutinho, Benteke, Sturridge

Subs: Bogdan, Lovren, Firmino, Gomez, Lallana, Ings, Ibe

Rodgers have always believed in offering an honest appraisal of where we currently are & the reality is that. Brendan Rodgers ends programme notes with "personal message to supporters" to "stay with team .. as they bed in and find their fluency"

Daniel Sturridge makes his first Liverpool start since April as he returns to the team for the Barclays Premier League clash with Norwich City.

The 25-year-old has been sidelined with a hip problem since the closing stages of last season but is rewarded for his diligent recovery work with a place in Brendan Rodgers' starting XI against the Canaries.

Sturridge partners summer signing Christian Benteke up front for the first time as the Belgian is restored after missing the midweek Europa League trip to Bordeaux.

In defence, Mamadou Sakho and Alberto Moreno are rewarded for their impressive performances in that fixture as they retain their respective places.

Philippe Coutinho also starts again after serving a one-match league suspension that saw him miss the Old Trafford defeat by Manchester United.

Can't fault the line up and  I hope we play a 442 diamond. However, one thing that really irks me, why is the 2nd striker spot only exclusive to Sturridge?

Lovren and Gomez both dropped to the bench. Sakho and Moreno rewarded for their performances in midweek as they keep their places.

Don't think we'll be seeing Lovren in the starting line up again for a while.

Didn't expect that!!! Get in there. Coutinho and Sturridge around Big Ben is tasty. Let's hope the setup works for the personnel.

Looks like a diamond in midfield. Fingers crossed!

First time in months that I'm excited about the team we're putting out, just have to hope it's two up top and not Sturridge on the right wing.

Hope Sturridge is ready for this and not being rushed back
Hope Sturridge partners Benteke and doesn't play wide
      Hope Sturridge plays well
      Hope Sturridge scores

Hopefully not pinning all my hopes on any one player :)

i am going to find something to bi*ch about, although i like the line up. i would have replaced lucas with roberto just behind the strikers, since we are playing home.

I've never been so surprised at a team selection. I genuinely didn't think Sturridge would be that close to fitness already.

I like the line up as long as it's a diamond in midfield and not something strange.

Happy to see the lad back but just hope that Rodgers hasn't just threw him in before he is ready because his job is on the line.

We could do without abother injury to the lad if he isn't  100% recovered.

But liking the look of the team and we should be winning this match!

Wow, didn't see Studge starting, big surprise.
Hope to God he is ready and doesn't breakdown.
But GREAT to see him back :)
And playing up front with Cou and Benteke ... fingers crossed for good return...

And Sakko and Moreno back in, think that's what many have discussed.
Sakho to shore things up, strength and hopefully composure. And Moreno has shown energy to get forward, so expect both FBs to press up.

Milner/Can/Lucas should be solid enough but no real real xfactor, so need the front 3 to magic something up.

Did I say great to see Studge back :)

Brilliant that Studge is back, is this what Brendan's been waiting for ? Well let's see from today, I expect us now to play much better than we have and start putting sides like Norwich to the sword,
It's a good sign Danny is back and by all accounts Henderson soon too. It's still very early in the season and not too late to be in amongst it around the end of April, but we have to start winning from today, nothing short of a home victory will be good enough,

Brendan is on borrowed time and only a run of victories and a massive upturn in how we perform from now on will save him imho,

      Finally Daniel has arrived.

Balls out on the table time Bren. Dont F**k this up with anything other than a diamond. If I see sturridge and centre back or left wing back you and me are done my friend.

Lovren out thank god. Next is skrtel for Gomez!! Show me a future I can get on board with.....

Milner to up his game today.

It's so bad at the moment that people not only want a good run but a good run AND convincing performances.

Anything less, and the heat will still be on Rodgers. If we can't perform against Norwich - a team we traditionally have done well against of late - then the protests will be louder.

I won't be satisfied with a meagre 1-0 victory, I need to see a very convincing performance.
