Liverpool 3-2 Aston Villa: In game and Post Match Thread
      Sep 26, 2015 02:00:15 pm

Liverpool will wear TheGlobalGoals logo on their shirts for today's game.

      Anfield this afternoon

Starting XI: Mignolet, Clyne, Skrtel, Sakho, Moreno, Can, Lucas, Milner, Coutinho, Ings, Sturridge

Subs: Bogdan, Toure, Gomez, Lallana, Allen, Origi, Ibe

Daniel Sturridge and Danny Ings are paired in attack as Liverpool take on Aston Villa in the Barclays Premier League at Anfield today.

Sturridge returns to the starting XI having missed the League Cup win over Carlisle United in midweek, while Ings retains his place after scoring in that fixture.

Mamadou Sakho, Simon Mignolet and Lucas Leiva are also restored to the line-up as the Reds' league schedule continues, with Joe Allen on the bench after coming through an hour-long run-out in the cup.

Try to find it in you to support the Mighty Reds today, no matter what you're thoughts are of B. Rodgers. This game is bigger than him! It is All about Liverpool

Just hope that Ings plays up top through the middle as part of a proper 2.  I like the look of him so far and he is much more dangerous in the middle.

Seems strange seeing one of the Mrs' walking in with the players.

Like Don, I think it should be a 4-4-2 narrow diamond but it'll no doubt be a 3-4-3.

Really hoping Sturridge can get off the mark (for both his and our sake) and Ings can continue his fine form. There's a ton of pace in that strike partnership to keep Villa's backline honest.

Id even be tempted to bring coutinho back into the middle 2 of the diamond and play ibe at the tip ... like we did sterling a couple of seasons back and have him run at them with his pace.

Great OP Clint, top pics... And hasn't Enriques bi*ch got luverly Mammory's, ;D,

Anyhoo, back on topic, good to see Studge & Ings up top just hope the supply is plenty, we really, really need to start winning , anything but a win today is unacceptable and will be yet another nail in Brendan's coffin, despite our lack in confidence I'm still positive we can get the 3 pts,

I'm going for a 3-1 win although it's more likely to be 1-0, again, however so long as it is a win,

C'mon Redmen, time to shine !

Spurs winning 4-1 against Man City.

I think that result and future Spurs results are stemming from the fact that they refused to needlessly overhaul the squad in the summer like we do EVERY F***ing summer (and they used to do as well). Consistency is the key to success. Watch Spurs fly now I say.

Ahh Global Goals - that's this Richard Curtis/UN run charity isn't it? Would be great to not have a shirt sponsor and have a charity there all the time. But hey, that's the commercial realities of the game I suppose.

Can go up to 6th or as low as 16th.

A lot riding on this game.  Like I've said elsewhere I think it'll be comfortable for us.

Indeed. I think I'm going to have to bring in a couple of Spurs players into my FF team now. I think they'll prosper this season. And good luck to them as well - that's what you deserve by not succumbing to the destructive temptations of the transfer market and all it's team ethos destroying qualities.

One thing money cannot buy is consistency, empathy and a common bond shared by players who have played together for a long time. That is the most important aspects of sporting success.
