      Liverpool Lime Street to Anfield
      Oct 12, 2015 06:10:16 pm
      Hi,
Palace fan here. Just bought tickets for Liverpool away and it'll be my first time visiting Anfield.

Looking at train times, there's a return train at 18:47 from Lime Street to Euston (this is the train I want to take).
The game kicks off at 4PM, so I assume it'd finish around 17:50, how long would it be walking from Anfield to Lime Street on a matchday? Would I definitely be able to make the 18:47 train?

Google Maps says it's a 45 min walk but I imagine it takes longer on a match day?

If I won't be able to make it on time by walking, what alternatives are there to get me to Lime Street within an hour?

Wouldn't add much on. It's downhill back to Lime St as well. It's easily doable I reckon. I wouldn't dawdle though.

      Thanks for the reply.
If worst comes to worse comes to worst and there are crowds, are there any quick ways to get to the station which will guarantee that I'll get there by 18:47?

Crowds won't stop you getting there. Especially coming out the away end and going left towards Lime Street. You could probably jump a cab a few hundred yards away from the ground if you had to but I'd just walk at a bit of pace.

Loads of people walk back into town it's not really that far.

Right cheers. Google Maps makes it look far but everyone apart from one says it's not that long.
Good luck for the game, look forward to it.

You'll be wanting to leave early anyway ;)

Seriously, getting out the actual ground can be a bit slow but once out just get a pacey walk on and you should be fine.

I've always walked into town after he game when I've been there and I don't recall it ever taking more than an hour although I've usually had a right few to drink so can't be to sure.

I always grab a cab at some point, cabs in Liverpool, compared to other Cities I go to regularly, are so cheap.

I always got bus 17 from/to Lime Street to/from Anfield which is a pretty quick journey. Last time was 3 years ago though so no idea if it's even the same bus :)
