Defensive situation isn't great now Gomez is basically out for the full season.

Recall Illori I say - the club have really fu**ed up sending him there while Tactics Tim refuses to play him, despite some star performances in the U21 Euro Championships.

You can't recall somebody who has an option to buy clause in the contract with the club he's at on loan.

He isn't playing for them though, so they may not want to pay wages for a player the manager doesn't plan your use....  We could work out an agreement to cancel the loan.....

I know a few folk (and Jürgen) reckon this squad is better than it's results but without Henderson and Firmino (who'll hopefully be back), I reckon it's woefully imbalanced in the middle. Lucas, Can & Milner are too slow in transition and too similar in 'style'(imo obviously).

There's just no way I'd have all three on the pitch at the same time and for that reason, Milner doesn't make my team.

A fair point Mouse and maybe a case for Allen?

That's a different thing altogether though.

I really haven't rated Joe since he has been here but like all the rest I rate him as highly as all the others now until proven differently

Absolutely no idea what to expect.
      But can't wait :)
We might be a complete mess with players not exactly sure what's expected.
Or he might fire them up enough to get improved performance.
Massive good will and excitement doesn't win games, Spuds won't roll over cause we've a new manager.
To be honest a defeat won't phase me ... we have a proven quality manager who will I'd expect will get it right soooner or later.
But Rome wasn't built in a day .. would be magic to get a win ... need much better performances from the players for that to happen...

I do rate him Walt and I think he could be that quicker player in transition that Mouse is talking about alongside one of the others.

Hoping for a win, gone for 2:0 the red men, but won't be too dissspointed if we draw or lose. Just wanna see a huge improvement in attitude and effort.
That will do for me in match 1. Hope results will improve as we go along game by game now.

I'm really hoping that the new Gaffer's first game is a win against The cu*ts. It's always nice to beat them home or away.  ;D

I expect a good performance with all of the players out to catch Jürgen's eye.

      Mignolet

      Clyne Skrtel Sakho Moreno

      Lucas Can
Ibe Coutinho Lallana (Firmino if fit)

      Sturridge

One other thing... we've been sh*te but Spurs haven't been much better.  ;)

A win shouldn't surprise too many reds.

I almost went without Milner too, but I just think it may be too early for that and Klopp likes running and aggression, but I would put him on the right of the 3 behind Sturridge and no in the middle.

Out for the full season? I didn't know that. That's upsetting.

I think we'll whack Spurs. Everyone looking to impress the new manager, plus it's Spurs.

With Gomez Injured, chance for Enrique to return in a back 4, or Kolo \ Lovren as part of a 3.

Need to wait till xmas for flanno.

Unless Klopp throws a curveball and plays a youngster from the u21s

I'm now thinking this though... 4-4-2

      -------------- Mings -----------------
      - Clyne - Skrtel - Sahko - Enrique -
      - Milner - Can - Coutinho - Moreno -
      ----------Ings - Studger -----------------

New manager normally goes with a win - however, when have we ever been normal..?

Worried about a loss, but optimistic.  To be honest, the first 3 games mean nothing, after that I would expect us to settle and see what happens. But as many have said, great to be excited and looking forward to a game!

A look on their forum makes your brain hurt, they're claiming Pochettino to be a better manager  :lmao: :lmao: The levels of craziness amazes me and how they think they are a better club than us. It must be a real tragedy to become a fan of Tottenham, i used to have some sympathy of their style of football and as a club generally (as i do regarding Newcastle or Villa), but when i see what fans they have i came to despise them.

Hopefully we'll trash them again on Saturday and remind them how sh*te their club and fanbase really is.

A 3-0 lead at HT and their fans rushing out of the stadium would be a dream.

I really believe that Ings, Couts and Studge will run riot at the Lane.

Liverpool managers don't! None of the last six have won their league game in charge.

Obviously that record is there to be broken but I'd take a point here, they did thrash City after all just a few weeks ago.

For a change a game which we have nothing to lose. If we lose the manager has had 3 days with the players - what do you expect - Brendan had 3.5 years and we wouldn't be confident if he was still here would we?

If we win, magnificent - lets get f**king wasted.
If we draw, magnificent - lets get f**king wasted.
      Ok, if we lose, ditto.

Real shame we let Markovic and Ilori go. Esp I believe the former would have benefitted from Klopp's structure
