Very strong Twitter rumours that Sturridge picked up a hamstring injury on Sunday. I'm pretty sure it'll turn out to be true.

sorry for him , BUT more sorry for Klopp the team and all the club,  I think best way to go is with the ''fake striker' mode , like against city and Chelsea,, for important matches , if benteke/Origi  are not going to step up their game

Daniel Sturridge injury update: Fears growing over another hamstring lay-off for Liverpool

DANIEL STURRIDGE is at the centre of a new injury scare amid fears he is facing another lay-off for Liverpool.

Concerns are growing that the striker suffered a problem with his hamstring in the defeat to Newcastle at the weekend when he appeared as a second half substitute.

Sturridge had scored twice against Southampton on his first start under Jürgen Klopp just four days earlier, but returned to the bench as Liverpool sought to manage his comeback.

Another spell on the sidelines would represent a huge blow to Sturridge and Klopp going into the crucial Christmas period.

Sturridge has already had knee and foot injuries since Klopp arrived at Anfield in October having missed the start of the season as he recovered from hip surgery.

Klopp said last week it was “normal” for a player to pick up repeated injuries following an extended lay-off.

Does anyone else think Benteke needs to work harder? The guy isn't slow so that can't be used as an excuse surely to not be involved more?

I don't think he's the most intelligent striker mate, from what I've seen so far he doesn't make intelligent runs and pull defenders out of position etc, he's fairly static, I'm hoping its just a case of him getting used to his team mates.

It's to be expected that he'll get a few muscle type niggles, pulls and strains, he's been out for so long his body isn't used to the excesses now expected of him.  It's a blow but we're used to being without him.

Aguero 85 in 112 for City Sturridge 39 in 58 (or so) and he is a better footballer than Aguero but the problems lies in the fact that Aguero also suffers injuries but has still played a lot more games for  City. Sturridge on form is just mind blowing remember the Derby game.
Sadly its all bollox because he is physically made of glass so w ewill never get to see him complete a full season fit and healthy

If he is injured again then in all seriousness we simply cant afford to wait around to see if he ever gets himself fit

Alex Fungerson was good doing that with his players, telling everyone his star players were crocked then they would appear in a crucial game and score the winner..

There's always a reluctance to gamble with a player who is not 100% but I think Sturridge is an exception to the rule.
His two razor sharp goals against Southampton would justify a half hour run out for every game from now until the end of the season if he can pop a goal or two in whilst he's on the pitch and he gets the service from midfield..

Guessing he's out until January - read six weeks somewhere.

We better find a way to get Benteke firing in this team then , or hope Coutinho can come back and work the magic with Firmino and Lallana again.
