Dreadful game to watch, played in what seemed to be dreadful conditions. That pitch was awful, the ball never rolled flat on the surface.

Players were moving very carefully is more what I noticed.  As you would in boots on ice to be fair!

In fact I'd imagine after seeing the pitch, the manager probably advised them to play it safe.  There would have been no reason whatsoever for us to have left there with a single injury.

As grim as the game was (and they all tend to be at 6pm) we finished top and will more than likely have a fairly decent tie in the next round to look forward to.

But now we've got the whole month to concentrate on the league - not to mention a rare midweek off next week!

Not a vintage performance but the job's done. That's the most important thing with the busy Christmas schedule coming up.

Thought we should have scored in those opening 20 minutes or so..
a couple of wicked crosses from Smith should have been met and buried...
Origi should have stuck his head on one of those crosses instead he stuck his leg out and it ended up back outside the area behind him..priceless..

Frozen pitches and skilful players !! not a good combination really..

We won the group unbeaten !! That'll do me.. 8)

In the grand scheme of things a shitty 0-0 is all we needed to top the group but the performance was a piss poor one again. It seemed like we never really threatened their goal and we settled for doing F**k all with the ball.

We need to start improving on these performances in Europe or we may not make it past the next round or two. Two wins (both by only 1 goal) and four draws against Rubin, Sion and Bordeaux is pretty sh*t.

Only Sion that we can't face out that second pool of the draw?

Only Sion that we can't face out that second pool of the draw?

      From Uefa's site:

      Draw procedure
      • There will be two pots for the round of 32 draw: the 12 group winners and the four best third-ranked teams in the UEFA Champions League group stage are seeded.

      • They group winners and four best third-placed teams in the UEFA Champions League will be drawn against the 12 group runners-up and the remaining third-placed UEFA Champions League sides.

      • No team can play a club from their group or a side from the same association. Due to a decision of the UEFA Executive Committee, clubs from Russia and Ukraine cannot meet.

I think we can avoid all English teams and then Bayer, Olympiacos and Porto by the sounds of the above.

Both the English sides are in the same pool as us so we cant play them.

We can play all 12 runners up except Sion or Sevilla Valencia Dortmund and Shakhtar.

Knew this group wouldn't be as easy as people made out it would be and how we have not only qualified but also finished top by only winning 2 games is beyond me in all honesty.

The game was hard to watch tonight, almost seemed like a pointless friendly game but we were already qualified so I am just glad we made it through this game without picking up any injuries which could easily have happened.

Finished top of the group, like we all expected us to do so job done and onto the next round. I'll take progressing unconvincingly through the entire competition if it means we go on to win it.

Terrible match, top of the group, through to the knock-out phases and no injuries sustained.

      Sounds like job done really.

Thanks for the good wishes lads, remember Birthdays come and go but what never varies is our love of LIVERPOOL FOOTBALL CLUB. We are on our way back to respect in Europe and we did not do too bad at Sion taking into account the shitty weather. :kop5cf8koxp6:

Also for those praising their crowd, apparently they use speakers with prerecorded chants to improve the "atmosphere"

That explains why each 'song' lasted so long. I watched the last few minutes on mute because I was sick of it. Mind you, I had a grumpy day yesterday.

Top of the group, no injuries, Brad Smith having a great game....still plenty of positives to take from that game.

Absolutely shocking game to watch though!

They used crowd speakers  at the Old Toilet for years.
They've never publicised it .... obviously the Scum support is/was sh*te.

I thought we had Pitch standards for Uefa games that was shocking like playing on bumpy concrete. Looks like we were right about young Smith he looks like a very classy player. Top of the group can't ask for more than that
