Klopp and Liverpool FC players pay Christmas visit to sick children at Alder Hey

Jürgen Klopp and the Liverpool squad spread festive cheer today as they visited children at Alder Hey children’s hospital.

The arrival of the Reds’ stars at the hospital in West Derby has become a Christmas tradition on Merseyside and once more their arrival delighted patients and their families alike.

The trip is just as popular with the players and even injured stars like Daniel Sturridge and Joe Gomez made sure they were part of the visit.

Klopp and his players distributed presents, including signed copies of the Liverpool mascot Mighty Red, as well as chatting to the children and their parents.

There were plenty of smiles from the players, who also included the likes of club captain Jordan Henderson, Mamadou Sakho, Lucas Leiva, Martin Skrtel, Philippe Coutinho, Adam Lallana, Roberto Firmino, Jose Enrique, Allan Rodgrigues de Souza, Adam Bogdan, Cameron Brannagan and Connor Randall.

A few of the Reds stars were even left holding the baby and seemed to be getting the hang of it quite nicely while Jürgen Klopp spoke personally to patients in their own rooms.

Well done to LFC, Jürgen Klopp and all the players for making the effort to bring cheer and the festive spirit to all the kids in Alder Hey hospital. Personally I hope all the Kids make a speedy recovery and are able to leave Alder Hey.

The looks on the children's, their parents and the staff's faces tells you how much this tradition is appreciated, top job!

Great to see that. Not easy to show humility like that when you get paid millions for kicking a bladder about. Well done to the lads. Bet that put a few smiles on some brave faces...

Am sure the kids will have been looking forward to that since they heard they were coming, and be so delighted to see them when they arrive, and for the kids parents to see their kids smiling and happy, you can't pay for any of that. Fair play to all from the club that went, a damn worthy trip, am sure the players got as much out of it as the kids.
