Wind and cold Stadium of Light

Starting XI: Mignolet, Clyne, Lovren, Sakho, Moreno, Can, Henderson, Lallana, Firmino, Coutinho, Benteke

Subs: Bogdan, Toure, Lucas, Ibe, Randall, Smith, Teixeira

Christian Benteke starts up front for Liverpool against Sunderland this evening as Jürgen Klopp makes a single change to his line-up at the Stadium of Light.

The Belgian grabbed the winner at home to Leicester City on Boxing Day and replaces the injured Divock Origi in the north east.

Elsewhere, the Reds are unchanged from their previous outing as they seek to end 2015 with back-to-back victories.

Not a bad selection given existing options.

Now a win is what we require.

Pretty weak bench. I thought Sturridge was fit again.

Joe Allen travelled to the North East but was sent home due to a virus. Hence the midfielder's absence from the Liverpool squad tonight.

Strongest line-up we could muster, but bench looking a bit short.

I'm hoping the game is put to bed before half-time, that Duncan Watmore looks a player from what I have seen previous, and if he comes on he could turn the game for him.

Saved him the bother of walking down all those stairs at the Stadium of Light.  Hope they have a lift installed.

Can't honestly see Fat Sams team trying to get stuck into us.Therefore probably looking at a "dull" game.Hope to see Benteke's confidence boosted even more tonight (a brace would be nice).COY Redmen..

Need that three behind Benteke to turn up tonight, all three of them have been terrible the last few weeks and it can't continue if we want to go on a decent run.

Sam Allardyce's on their tactics for tonight: "Looking at the Watford game and the Newcastle game, if we close Liverpool down and we show a bit of grit and determination then we can nullify the talent that they've got on the front line. If we can break out from there and see what other clubs have done exploiting a few weaknesses that they leave then hopefully we get the chance to score a goal. I think today it's more about us not conceding any goals at all, nevermind early goals, and then see where we go from there."

In short: We're going to shove everybody behind the ball because I have no clue how to set up proper tactics for a match and we're going to play for a 0-0.

First class OP Clint, fair play to ya fella, keep it up lad(yer missus will be pleased)  :D

Exciting X1 Jürgen has chosen, personally I'd have went with Ibe rather than Firmino, but hey, what the F**k do I know,
Can't see Makems making any inroads if I'm totally honest, fat Samantha will have drilled his double deckers to a fine tune and will hope to get luckyluckylucky, on the break, or a set piece,

I've had a wee think about tonight, I reckon if we can hand out a proper pasting, something like 5or6 would do us nicely,
I predicted 0-3 and I stand by that, but I hope we get more, we are lagging behind those around us in the goals for column so for me this is a perfect opportunity to batter Sunderland good and proper,

It's the last game of 2015, so what better way is there to have a convincing win to take us into a brand new year ,

saw that, he added  that he said to the players to get in their faces( lfc players) and make and win hard tackles etc etc
so expect a rough game from them apart from parking the bus

Benteke to show he's been listening and is willing to apply himself tonight please.

      Much more from Firmino.

Lallana and / or Henderson willing to get alongside or beyond the frontmen.

Mignolet to put glue on his gloves.

4 or 5 - 0 to the redmen, not much to ask, cheers lads!

I think a second pair of shin pads will be needed tonight against these bas**rds... and that's just to watch the game, I think our fragile flowers up front may need even more to survive.

Just about the strongest side we have available at the moment with the possible exception of Ibe who is on the bench.

I think this is one of those games where if we score we win.
