Your Top 2 Songs of 2015
      Dec 31, 2015 01:27:56 pm
I'm staying in tonight and know some of you like your music so I've got faith in some providing a decent little playlist for tonight.  Some of you have introduced me to some artists I've never heard of before none more than Racer who showed me Alabama Shakes about three years back.

      My songs of the year:

      1) Alabama Shakes - Don't Wanna Fight No More

      https://youtu.be/nin-fiNz50M

      2) Louis Berry - Rebel

Off the top of my head.

      Wolf Alice - Bros

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TD_Q9CxXTo49CxXTo4

      Suede - Outsiders

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TD_Q9CxXTo4

Probably many more I can't think of now.

Do you mean songs released in 2015? I used to listen to lots of new stuff but for the past couple of years I've listened to so little new albums! Instead I've discovered or revisited lots of old music.

If you mean songs from 2015, then one of the big releases of the year was certainly notable if you're into hip hop. This is probably my favorite:

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8aShfolR6w8

And there was also a new album from one of my favorite bands of all time, Blur:

Yeah 2015 mate. I like 'I' but didn't think much of the album which disappointed me as I loved GkmC. Alienated himself I thought with the route he took.

Oh and love this parody song.
2 million views on YouTube, but over 30 million on somebody else's FB account who basically stole it and uploaded it.
      Nuts.

Haven't listened to the others yet but loved that song by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. Honestly hadn't heard of them before. A very old-school hip hop sound at times, reminded me of the Grandmaster Flash.

Yeah, I love it because it very much feels like a throwback.

haha that's true. The thing is that the album which contained that song (To Pimp a Butterfly) was released in 2015 but this specific song was released in 2014 as a single. I would never have noticed that if it wasn't for you though haha

Just give me Chris Cornell's new album, it blows away anything else that tries to pass as music, not even close for me. It very well be my favorite album of all time.

And all about mopeds. Get the lyrics up and listen to it, very clever and mad song.

Yeah kind of regretted that as soon as I posted it.

Forgot about the James Bay album. Love 'Let It Go' but I love 'Scars' a bit more.

      Forgot about Drake's IYRTITL.

      I'm scrapping my OP:

      James Bay - Scars

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVslvM30EWI

Drake - 10 Bands. Can't find this on YouTube but it can only be played with a good level of volume should you ever listen to it.

Now that's a statement! I'll give the album a go later tonight or tomorrow on that recommend.

Listened to this as I typed this post. They've got a good sound so will definitely keep an eye ou for any other stuff by them.

Yea it's probably not everyone's cup of team, but I love his voice and I love his lyrical style and this album showcases both for me. I'm a dyed in the wool Pearl Jam fanatic for the last 25 years but if I could only have one album to listen to for the rest of time, it would probably be Higher Truth.

      Was thinking that as well.

Posted the proper link for Suede Outsiders as it didn't seem to work from my phone in the post above.

Another great song from one of my favourite albums of the year.

I'll warn you, it's not "grunge" by any means. If you liked Cornell's Songbook album you will probably like it. I don't know, maybe the songs just speak to me...there's a lot of themes of understanding your mortality and being 40, I can relate to that a lot right now, I literally have listened to that album over and over since I got it and it never remotely gets old to me.

To be honest, favourite album of the year was IYRTITL from Drake. Pick any two from that album.

To Pimp a Butterfly was hit and miss for me but when it hit, it hit. Some of the tracks are brilliant.
