      Diego misses our again.

      I like it. ;D

Don't quite get all the foaming at the mouth over this one.

If we didn't get someone in and Jose had to keep playing CB this place would be unbearable.

It's a short term fix without committing big money on a ayer long term.

forgot he has been on loan at Southampton and played against us in the 6-1 defeat but he hasn't been getting a game so it makes perfect sense to come here.

Without even seeing him recently I'd hazard a guess he's a hell of a lot better than Jose, Can and Lucas at CB and more experienced than Ilori.

If we'd spent a fortune on him and given him a 5 year contract I'd be more concerned.

Short term loan deal is a good move.

I'd agree with this.  He is certainly a better "emergency" option than having Jose or Can etc at CB.  A few years back he was being tipped as a future England CB, granted he hasn't kicked on at all since then but hopefully he can be solid when needed

Apparently very good in the air, might even solve our crisis at both ends of the pitch.
      Pragmatic signing.

      Same Si.

I'd be more concerned if we'd ignored our injury crisis and done nothing when there's still so much to play for.

Then you'd have many of the same people screaming "Why didn't we get a short term loan in and look at things in the summer"

Cannot win with some people it seems.

      Decent and very sensible signing.

But once again, we can now certainly confirm that £7 million has been thrown down the drain regarding Illori - yet another shocking waste of money in addition to various squad players signed over the last couple of years.

Another f**k up from the incompetent transfer committee and evidence of a failed transfer strategy for sure. Please make it stop.

      Better than nothing I guess...

Think this means the end of Ilori's (short) Liverpool career as well.

      Good look Steven !! :)
Hopefully can hit the ground running. Like Ilori, have reservations, but he's got more PL experience than Ilori and *should* be a good option in the air at both ends.
Not sure about recent form/current fitness, so it's a gamble ... but not going to agonise over it, it's just a loan, least we've not splashed £Xmill on a what is a stopgap, would prefer to spend that on automatic first teamers at this stage.

Well whatever we think of his signing and the player/man himself, we could really quite do with him coming in and having a very decent debut. He's definitely no mug, definitely better than Enrique is, definitely better than Ilori ever will be and will probably regard it as an excellent opportunity to rescue his career.

Go on fella, do the bizzo and you never know where it might lead. As an aside, is Brendan Rodgers still advising the club or something? Caulker is EXACTLY the kind of player he would have advocated.
