I like how everyone in the English press just straight up forgot Vardy's racism.

Yep and they did they very same for John Terry x2!!

Maybe you missed where they are second and we are ninth?

So they're having that one hit wonder season, they'll be back fighting relegation next season.

And I'd rather stick with Ings, he will end up a better player than Vardy, even Kane is a better player than Vardy.

Ya think? Kane is right up there with the best young strikers around Europe IMHO.

He's done what so many players do, look good for half a season and then look to go completely off the boil. He doesn't look a threat in front of goal now. He would cost a big fee but I doubt he will score many more this season. That said, can't be worse than our attackers.

Better strikers out there than Kane as in Vardy is a better striker, but for me Kane is the better player.

Vardy is a good player IMHO and his scoring feats this season are no fluke. His movement is terrific, he has lots of pace, can hit it off both feet and is a s brave as f*ck. That said it's hard to argue with the point that Leicester defend deep and suck teams onto them before hitting on the break, he wouldn't IMHO be an answer as a striker who's going to help to break a stubbord defence down. Not for us I don't think, although the way the Mancs for example set up I've no doubt he'd score plenty.

No. He's a good player but no. Too expensive, unlikely ever to repeat this season's goalscoring feats, especially in a new setup with different players and demands, and at 29 he is surely at peak value. I think he should stay at Leicester.

I honestly can't remember mate. Definately not before he went to Swansea as I'd never heard of him. Might have been though, not hiding just can't remember.

25mil pounds is way too much, his price range is about 5-12mil pounds,no more.
Sounds like we'll sign him then , it's what we do God help us and this time next season we'll be tearing each other apart on here bemoaning our ineptness in the transfer market .

Perhaps he's never had a manager before who sets the team up to benefit his strengths. Always too quick on this forum to look for reasons not to sign a player.

I don't think he is flash in the pan and suspect he will be a very decent premiership player for a few seasons to come BUT like most of us, I am keen for a different approach to transfers and clearly we have had our fingers burned with players of a similar profile. Klopp has made a name for himself buying foreign players on a budget and turning them into superstars which is just as well because FSG are all over that approach. If we were going to buy a Premiership striker (a realistic one) it would be Ighalo for me, I really like him but no doubt he will command a ridiculous transfer now so it's best shop abroad I think.

I don't even think he's worth £15m. I have a feeling Leicester will tail off now and so will Vardy. It was nice to see, though!

Signing Vardy would definitely be a gamble. Sometimes though, they pay off. Hard one to judge. Then again I don't think we are genuinely interested.

I rate Vardy as a player, and I think he would suit Jürgen's style pretty well tbh.

However Leceister won't sell him this window unless someone offers them an absolute fortune, cos he's so crucial to their CL push and all the attendant cash.
And as he's 29 he's not worth splashing mega money on.

Also I don't like his ugly, racist face.
( We'd better not sign him now.)

Vardy is at his best now. There's not much longevity IMO. He's at his physical prime due to his age (28?). Maybe worth a punt at 10-12 million. But I would not pay more than that personally. Just think he's starting to tail off now, BUT it has been great to watch...

I would pay 3 million tops.

Signing a half-season wonder (like Carroll) for 10-12 million would be stupid. He fits Leicester very good. But he is getting older and his hot streak is over. He would be abysmal here. As much as we need a striker we shouldn't just go out and sign anyone who we think can score a goal.

;D. This isn't 1985. You don't get anyone half decent for £3m anymore.

As much as he MAY have fizzled out, he has pace, good finishing and is direct. He COULD do a job at the right price.

I'm not sure he can mate.  Leicester sit back, sit deep and play on the break, we don't so he wouldn't ever get the space he needs to play at his best.

We showed when we played them how to nullify him and I don't think he's scored since so maybe other teams have twigged on too.

That's a good point, but he'd adapt to Jürgens system though and I'm pretty sure he likes fast, attacking players and Vardy certainly has plenty of pace. It's all ifs and buts, nothing is ever a certainty, least of all football. But at the right price, what's to lose?

But isn't that what we've been doing for years mate.  Buying flavour of the month players who need to adapt to how we play, then get pissed off when they don't or can't.

I'd rather we bought players who are already playing how we need them to so they slot in straight away and instantly improve the position we've bought them for.
