If he's seriously trying to get into the Brazil team then he will not make that move.

Clearly has no ambition just in it for the money.

We have enough of those players already.

Glad we passed on this guy.

Like the boy that went to the market to sell a cow and came back with some beans , except Ian brings back a tin of curried beans gone out of date since 2012 .

They weren't negotiating with Ian Ayre.

So, if true, he was only coming here for the money.

Should be up for an Oscar for that acting.

Good luck to him, he'll be forgotten in no time. He'll be getting paid too much money to turn down.

maybe he burned bridges at his club with his interviews and its a interim move ;D

be seriously he went to them for 38 million. They wanted 50 from us.

WHO IS DOING THE NEGOTIATIONS ON OUR BEHALF?

      Wow.

These Chinese clubs are going all out.

Well, this move shows where his heart really is. He may well have been a great success for us but if he is willing to throw away his peak years in China for money then all the best. Even if it was a sideways move for more money he'd wasting an opportunity to be honest.

Wouldn't be my choice. Could well have turn out to be a blessing in disguise.

It looks like both club and himself thought it better if he moved on after he basically pimped himself to us.
How exactly did his transfer to us fall through? We seriously couldn't pay what a Chinese team were willing too? Odd!

To be fair, we could have ended up negotiating ourselves into them hardening their stance. Or they may have simply asked for more to fend us off.

The Chinese clubs are going wild right now, they offered what Shaktar asked us for in the intial press reports and presumably will pay the lead his weight in gold bullion.

It's over now, no point in dwelling. But I'd say as it stands now it says more about him as person than it does about how well (or badly) Liverpool may have went about the transfer.

I suppose a footballer has a short career, and given that this fella was unlikely to be another Suarez or Messi, maybe the big payday was the right move for him financially, but he has basically killed his own reputation by going there.

Shakhtar wanted 38m all along, Jürgen didn't want us to pay it but a Chinese club were more than happy to.

Simple as, now time to move on. The hard work regarding summer recruitment should be starting now so we're not F***ing about in August again and settling for someone like Balotelli.

I get the impression that the budgets of Man City and Chelsea will be helped even further in future if Chinese clubs come in for the likes of Yaya and Oscar (again).

Can they not offer us ridiculous money for one of our sh*t players like they did with Gyan? :D

It's like Football Manager. Need more money? No problem, just start a new manager profile and sell off your crap players for 20, 30, 40mill. Oops and then retire that manager.

Yeah fair enough not all players are in it to reach the pinnacle of their sport.

Cant hold it against him the lure of money is a powerful drug.
