Giving my MOTM to Sakho. Had Crouch all night and cleared every set piece that came his way.

Bunch of sh*te out on the field though. Just as hard picking the worst player as it is with picking the best. Moreno, Hendo and Can were rubbish.

on reflection mate we did have quite a few good performances Sakho made some inspired challenges.

Mignolet will get all the plaudits going, rightfully so for his two quality saves. But we took some f**king belting penalties in that shoot-out.

I can't be arsed going through individual performances because I don't wanna look at players being poor tonight, we're going to Wembley and that's enough to erase the sh*t performances from many tonight.

Well done Reds. Go and win our 9th League Cup. Go and extend our lead as England's most successful club. Really am delighted right now. People knock this competition but it still gets this sort of passion and reaction out of me. Boss.

Definitely a few in with a shout for MoM. Lucas, Milner, Migs Flanno ask played well and gave everything.

Lucas again was solid keeps the ball moving and puts in a tackle too

Needs to work on his positioning a bit does Benny Boy. Although the lack of service does account for some of the times he was deep.

To be fair to the players performance, they probably had half an eye on the weekends game.

On Benteke, I don't think he played particularly well BUT as a team we played better once he was on, it had a positive effect in comparison to the sh*te the lads served up for the first hour.

Mignolet obviously the key player tonight with that performance. Not just in the penalties. He was more commanding of his area too.

Allen was great. Lucas strong. Milner all over the field, and really had a positive impact. Benteke had a great game too - and a perfect penalty. Thought he was missing that!! He's really upped his game and shown that we need him in this team.

Flanno was great too. Tiredness got the better of him, but before that set in, he was really solid and good going forward.

Voted Joe Allen for MOTM because I thought he played brilliantly when he came on, allowing us more control of the game. Ironically under Klopp he's becoming the player Rodgers said he was buying.

Needs to learn how to move his legs more like. A concrete post in disguise is Benteke.

It was two legs, we were clearly better in the first leg, and there goal was clearly offside, we weren't good today, but overall we deserve this.

Well aware of that fella and I guess we do deserve to go to Wembley over the piece but we were woeful and not acceptable for a club of our standing, 
Is this really what we've been reduced to, performances like tonight,  this is not the first time we have been mediocre against the Stokes of this world,  teams we should be brushing aside,  teams who should be bricking it playing us,

To answer my own question, we have now won 14 and lost 3 penalty shootouts. The best record in English football!

the 95 semi was against Birmingham I think a similar game and penalties . Good teams find a way to win and that's all that counts tonight,
