Klopp wasn't lying when he said there'd be changes that's for sure. I have zero confidence going into this after seeing that line up, hopefully I'l be pleasantly surprised.

I pretty much predicted this side would come out, but I was on the fence about Brannagan.

You mean you didn't predict Ward to start?

Not sure this is the line up to beat these, but W T F, let's get at these bas**rds and give it our best shot.
100% from everyone, and sort these fuckers out.
Still standing by my 3:1 prediction.
Got I'm chomping at the bit now, can't wait to see these youngsters have a blast at the hammers and burst their fragile bubbles.

Not even in my worst nightmares would I have predicted this team. I expected a few kids but not so many.

I got it right, almost  ;D

This was our starting team against Stoke

      Mignolet
      Flanagan
      TourĂ©î€ª
      Sakho
      Moreno
      Henderson
      Lucas
      Can
      Milner
      Firmino
      Lallana

      Team against West Ham

      Mignolet
      Clyne
      Caulker
      Lovren
      Smith
      Brannagan
      Stewart
      Allen
      Ibe
      Benteke
      Teixeira

Bar Firmino v Benteke, there isn't much between those sides.

When you consider these are the only players we have that are reasonable, fit and didn't play 120 minutes against Stoke, these are the best chance we have. If we played people who played 120 minutes... we are risking injury plus they wouldn't perform. I have confidence the team Klopp picked today is the best chance we have. I will never back Mignolet starting and I think everyone knows this, but I did expect it.

How can you have confidence in Klopp whilst he continues to back Mignolet yet you don't? I trust the managers decision & to date I have not questioned any team he has picked or played.

Mignolet maybe no Reina or De Gea but he's our number 1 till the Boss see's fit & once the Boss calls the shots on replacing him you just have to accept it.

The defence I'd say is arguably fairly even although Smith is still very much an unknown quantity. Midfield and Attack however there's a world of difference.

My only fear is youngsters sometimes try to do too much to impress people.
They're all quality players if they concentrate and keep it simple and play to their strengths.
      Can still do this !

Can you re read what you wrote and what I wrote? what you wrote is utter nonsense. I never said I had confidence in Klopp, I probably won't until he sorts out the glaring goalkeeping situation instead of handing out 5 year contracts. I however do have confidence that from our available players this team is probably the best we could have put out today.. there is a major difference in there. I don't have to accept Mignolet as a keeper that is good enough, but I have to accept Klopp has faith in him so this is why I have some doubt about Klopp... since everyone else can recognize it is our weakness. No matter what excuses people use to why he got the 5 year contract, the truth is Klopp has such faith in Mignolet he uses the term perfect for Liverpool. Now why you would bring all this up just because I said I have faith Klopp picked the best team today is quite strange.. I'd rather not discuss such things in match threads.

Only one I'm 100% not liking for this and it's Stewart. I'd have liked Ojo to get a start and for Teix to drop into the midfield replacing Stewart. Allen being in the deeper role. Let's see how it goes though.

Thought Stewart was effective against Exeter.  Be interesting to see how he gets on against a much better side.

Can't argue with Klopp saying that West Ham are probably favourites.  Looking at those two teams they are a lot more experienced.

Hopefully the Anfield factor is a positive and not a weight for our younger lads.

Ok did anyone pick that team. JĂ¼rgen is full of surprises isn't he. Got to say my feelings towards Caulker have eased somewhat and I don't really know why. Maybe it was seeing our two CB's watching the ball bounce in the penalty area on Tuesday.

I suppose if (and that's a big if) Benteke actually gets into the box instead of hovering around 25 yards out and the likes of Smith can hit some crosses onto his noggin we're a sneaky chance.

When you consider Henderson, Can and Moreno to be first 11 starters and look at their recent performances I don't think it as big a gap as people think. This is the point I am making. Down on paper the experience is lacking but I don't think it will matter if the players today are hungry to prove a point. There is no reason why Smith can't see this as an opportunity to steak a claim in the side. I think Moreno is really bad for a Left back.
