With the six-week consultation period, when potential legal challenges to the council’s decision can be submitted, still ongoing, Liverpool don’t yet have “certainty” that they can proceed.

But barring any late hitches, building work on the new £75million Main Stand will begin early next year.

The project offers huge opportunities for Hogan and his team. Negotiating a naming rights deal for the stand would pay a significant chunk of the construction costs.

“The new Main Stand is going to be a big focus for all of us,” Hogan said,

“The process is still ongoing. We’re getting closer to certainty but we’re not there yet.

“When that certainty arrives from a commercial standpoint we’ll be ready to get to work on that.

“We wouldn’t consider selling naming rights for the stadium as a whole but in terms of the name of the Main Stand that’s something we will look at.

“We’ll be looking to bring in a number of new partners. A naming partnership for the stand would make sense.”

I know for a fact the club have sent mock ups of the new Main Stand to various companies which show their logo's etc plastered all over it.

A very good mate of mine works for one of these companies and they currently pay another sports institution 3m a year to sponsor them. Apparently this is a fraction of what LFC wanted to name the redeveloped stand.

As much as I'd hate to see it happening, I think you'd have to nowadays. It's an obvious way to flout the FFP rules and all of the top clubs will use that advantage to up or hide their finances.

Even Real have signed a deal this week for €500m.

Even Real have signed a deal this week for €500m.

Perez secured the sponsorship in order to raise funds for the long-planned renovation of the stadium, which is expected to be completed in 2017.
The work will increase capacity to around 90,000 from its current 81,000, incorporating a retractable roof along with a number of contemporary design features.

      Retractable roof?

Given the fact that theworlds best players cost £100m+ these days is a retractable roof necessary there?

£100m+ for someone to play football, how F***ing bizarre.

580 MILLION fans you reckon Billy?
In a world of 6 and bit billion people?

Why sell Luis in that case?
You could have bought Neymar, Bale, Ronaldo AND benched Messi.
A 200,000 seat stadium would have been small change!

If it wasn't such a closed shop, that comedian Hogan would have been laughed out of town. AND football.

Where is the rest of this 580 million fans? The planet Zog?

Is his second name Hogan? Or Bullshit?

Liverpool close to £90m naming rights deal for new Main Stand with Far East company... and Mario Balotelli could move to China

Chief commercial officer Billy Hogan has been in China for discussions.
Three companies are interested in adding their brand to the Main Stand.
Owners Fenway Sports Group hope to sell 10-year naming rights deal.
Mario Balotelli could move to the Chinese Super League this summer.
Striker does not have the pace or mobility which Jürgen Klopp favours.

Liverpool are looking to tie up deals in the Far East that could see a sponsor paying £90million for naming rights on the new Main Stand — and Mario Balotelli joining the Chinese Super League.
Billy Hogan, Liverpool's chief commercial officer, has been in China to meet three different companies who have shown an interest in adding their branding to the Main Stand, which is currently being expanded. Once completed, Anfield's capacity will be 54,000.
Fenway Sports Group, Liverpool's owners, have never had any intention of selling complete naming rights to Anfield once the redevelopment is complete but they are eager to find a partner who would commit to a 10-year deal worth between £7m and £9m per season.

96 seats should be kept vacant and every seat to be inscribed with each name . A fitting tribute it would be .

Jeeez.. That would be awesome. Seats from the back row, top tier, so they will forever look over us.

Houlding Shankly and Paisley are the only names that should ever be on the stands of Anfield. Fooked if I'm sitting in the Coca Cola stand or the Nike end. Always be the main the Anny road and the Kemlyn.

Billy Hogan Commercial Officer  states today that we will look for a Stand naming partner but again clarifys no naming partner for Anfield .

They are sticking to their word.  .

      Just the stand.

A deal will make a big hole in the construction costs .

No issue with them selling naming rights to the main stand at all. If it'll cover a significant portion of the costs for the work on it, that's fine.

It's a little tacky but capitalism is selling your soul for money and that is a lot of money for what is a new stand anyway.

Hope the money finds its way down to the football team.

With you in hoping that the money findss it's way to the team & it should, after all the stadia build is being financed by FSG own monies via a interest free loan... So in reality the money from any naming rights should be soley for the team...

Apparently the loan was due to be paid back over the next 5 years from the increased ticket sales from the extra capacity. Perhaps that money will now be used to reduce ticket prices ... then again perhaps not :)

Repayment of the loan from FSG for the construction of the new Main Stand totals £117 million to be repaid over 5/5.5 years. Repayment over the 5.5 year period would see the club repay approximately £21.27 million per year. The club have confirmed that increased hospitality revenues from the Main Stand will exceed this repayment
We have asked the club if the additional money over and above the repayment could be offset against ticket prices. This was refused.
We asked the club if, when the loan was repaid, some of the revenues could be set aside for ticket prices. This was refused.

Don't have any issue with this myself, a means to an end that pretty much covers a massive amount of the expenditure on the Main Stand.

Anyone sitting in the Dunkin Donuts Main Stand next season?  :couch:

If this means they sell Chinese food at Anfield from now on I think it's a big plus.

Hope they pick something with the Hanzi characterset, noone will note the difference.

Its a shame football is become more like American football year on year. That bloody sausage dog shadow still catches my eye every game.

Whilst we are flogging naming rights, lets at the same time rename the Centenary Stand the 'Sir Bob Paisley Stand' and the Anfield Rd end the 'Sir Bill Shankly Stand'
