We have the bad habit of going from zero to hero and back to zero. So, I'm not going to predict that we're gonna wallop them but come back with a 1-0 or 2-0 win with no injuries, I'll be more than happy.

Hahaha, nothing at all to do with it but crazy superstitions are everywhere

I have this crazy superstition that when Coutinho, Firmino and Sturridge all start we will win.

Personally I think we should be throwing our attention at this, we need to win this competition so we can get CL football next year. I'd love to win the League Cup while we're at it, but if I had a choice it'd be the EL for silverware and also a CL place.

Our front 3 of Studge, Firmino and Couts were all subbed off in Sunday's rout, and in all honesty we didn't put all that much energy into the game as it was so out of hand. Therefore, I think we go all out here and put our best 11 forward. Let's go to Germany and make a statement. Let's bring back a lead so comfortable we can cruise at Anfield.

I agree and we can rest some of them in the second leg because of the final.

If we win this, sorry when we win this, can we get the Mancs in the next round ( if they get through), or is it still seeded.
Would be really sweet to stuff them.  ;D
As much as I like to see United lose in the league, especially when playing us.... there are far easier teams to face than united. Disliking a team so much we would want them next round is stupid. I just want Liverpool to go as far as we can and getting easiest teams does help with that since it's easier on our players. Hard teams means extra time, injured players and penalties... i would rather this in the last 4 not early knockout.

It's not stupid, it's rivalry for f**k sake.

Just don't see Stu starting in a midweek game, more likely that Divock will start and Danny will come on for the last 30 odd  minutes if needed.

Stability, not too many changes. Leicester have played the same starting lineup in 16 out of  25 games, thats the way it is.

Same team to Villa please Jürgen, 1 to 3 changes at most. Or better no changes at all

Would like to see us try and wrap this up in the first leg to give some a rest for the cup final the week after, a 2 goal lead or more an I can't see us not getting through.

      Mignolet

      Clyne
      Toure
      Sakho
      Moreno

      Can
      Henderson
      Milner
      Coutinho

      Firmino
      Origi

Ward; Flanagan, Ilori; Stewart; Ibe, Sturridge, Benteke

I'd pretty much go with that, although flanagan isn't registered for Europa so it'd have to be maybe Smith on the subs instead.

Important we get through this round.

If we then win the league cup (qualify for Europa) then in my view this should be our primary focus till May.

Premier League will then effectively be of no significance. Sad but true.

I dunno JD, do you not think if we can go on a REALLY good run we're still in with a chance of top4?  9 points behind right now, it is a big gap, but City are starting to look a bit dispirited. I'd still give us an outside chance, with some of the lads that are coming back don't think it's impossible. But we'd need to WIN our next few games. Draw/losses won't cut it... if we can't do that, yep, would start putting more of the big players out for Europa matches

Hard to know what way Klopp will lean, will be interesting to see the side on Thurs...

“We lost Kevin Stewart in training,” Klopp said.

“He blocked a shot and his ankle was not stable.

“It was a bit bruised so we have sent him for a scan. We think it’s the ligament.

“He trained outstandingly and then this happened. That’s not too good.

“Lucas is back fit but not Adam. He has no chance for Thursday's game.”

A right kick in the teeth. I get the feeling Jürgen has been really impressed with Stewart. Notable that he was the youngster who was handed his league debut at Villa. Really hope it's not too serious.

He has been growing on me young Stewart because he has gone largely unnoticed but he has been doing a good solid job.

Genuinely think we have no chance.

Too many teams have to have a far far worse run in than us and we've won one of the last 6.

      We'll finish somewhere between 6th and 10th.
