A remnant of the penny-pinching days when we signed cheap "potential" rather than the real deals.Probably wouldn't have been as exposed if there had been a midfield in front of him though.
When we signed him I thought he looked like quality but he’s just not progressed. For last 18 months he’s really struggled (when fit) with the physicality of the English game. There was nothing scientific about Red Star last night - their approach was reminiscent of a low / mid-table Prem side who wanna give one of the big boys a bloody nose.
Just liked we signed Gomez and Robertson, correct? damn those penny pinching days.
Gomez was 18 playing in a lower league and Robertson cost £10 million from a relegated team.Neither were signed as immediate starting 11 players.Matip was.
Boss tonight I thought
Kiss of death?
Didn’t like to say mate......Just don’t mention anybody else till after we play Citeh on 3rd eh?
That Aguero, Sane and Silva deserve praise, though...
Seems Matip will be out for up to 6 weeks with a broken collarbone after the challenge from Kouballiy https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-face-defensive-crisis-after-15543419
Absolutely gutted, was hoping we would see a lot more of him in the coming weeks, he adds something different to our game when he is playing. Can't see Lovren playing 6-7 weeks of games straight. Fabinho could probably do a job, but other than him, who else can we call on?
He is made of glass. So unfortunate that all these injuries arrive at the start of the heavy festive period.Fabinho could do a job if God forbid Lovren or VVD get hurt.
Whilst he has had injury issues you can see the fall wouldn’t have injured most people - it was shocking and the player should have been punished for it
what's he going to do? Send him off after the final whistle?
