Unbelievable stuff, really. Mind boggling our luck with CB's this season.

3 season-ending injuries to our top 3 CB's. But we "should have known".

Top defender but his body is not up to the PL unfortunately.

Best for both club and player that he moves to a less intense league in the Summer I'm sure he will have plenty of clubs interested.

Will always have that stretch where he was a key player us in the drive for Champions League title #6. He was especially good in that spell for us, probably his longest at the club where he stayed healthy.

Well with Matip we absolutely did know how injury prone he is.

We now know exactly why the club had to act so quickly when the extent of his injury became clear.

Also no chance of seeing Fab in midfield this season.

Yup. Considering the last minute crisis we were in Edwards and the club did amazing business.

They have but goes to show it really isn’t that difficult to bring in players as some experts on here would have you believe 😉

You're right. They should pay Edwards per-diem instead of being a full time employee and only come in during deadline days to make the transfers.

"I was the same last night, bar one great tackle where he turns away with the ball taking it off the forward but he played on no bother after that for 15 or 20 mins"

I posted this in the match thread, Klopp has confirmed it as how it happenned. No luck the lad

Gutted but not surprised. One of the best defenders in the league when he plays but unfortunately his body's just not up to it.

He's one I think we need to let go in the summer.

Ultimately not surprised. A few days ago Klopp was asked about Matip's injury and he said they'd know in a few hours once the scans were done and never heard anything after that. If it had been good news they would have come out and said so but since it wasn't good news it makes sense to keep it quiet as it'd just give other teams more leverage when dealing with us.

Yep and only revealed once our business was done.

Still not sure why we left it til the last day of the window. We lost a lot of poibts since Jan 1st and these lads will need bedding in.

Still we have our depth and in a few weeks time they will be ready to play. Lots of hard work on the training ground now learning to play with each other.

At least Wijnaldum has made that number 6 his own now.

Big fan of Joel's ability but sadly not a long term plan.  I might be wrong but think he may have played his final game for us.

Hope he makes a full recovery and the time off helps with any other issues he has been having.

Sorry for Joel, really like him and think is an amazing player but playing in the PL is clearly not for him with his physical issues.

I also think he played his last game for Liverpool but I think it'll be the best for both if he goes to play at an easier, less physical league.

Yea, not having Kabak and Davies against Southampton, United and Burnley is the reason we scored a combined zero goals against them.

Actually it could be a big factor, because if we had them in defence for some of those games it would have allowed Hendo and Fab to play in midfield. Not guaranteeing a win but it certainly would have increased the chances.

We have now scored 6 without either in the miffield though in 2 games

      No doubt about it now.

      Matip has definitely bulked up.

I wonder if this was a deliberate thing by the medical team to help him with his muscle injury problems.
If it is, hopefully it's effective.
A fully fit Matip is a huge asset to the team.
