Apparently it’s ankle ligaments. With his luck -out for 9 years.

If it is ankle ligaments you could be looking at a couple of months. That pretty much takes us to April.

I didn't even see him limp. Thought he must have done something at HT in the tunnel. FFS made of glass, you feel sorry for him but frustrated for us! FFS!!!!

If it’s truly ligaments then he’s likely done for the season.

The injury issues with this lad...

Great defender when fit but so unreliable. Have to get someone in now, how long is Fab out for?

Matip is basically done. His body is not strong enough for the physical stress. Same with Keita or Lallana. Jürgen still drags them with the club to set an example of loyality - and that's smart because it bonds together players...and maybe we will still get a couple of weeks with him in April and May.

Imagine this if we can go into April with CL football:

      Ali
      TAA-Matip-VVD-Robbo
      Hendo-Fab-Thiago
Salah-Bobby-Mané...and still Keita and Jota available!

Such a team could win CL, no doubt. Let's hope!

Reading now not as bad as first thought, may only be 1-2 weeks. Fingers crossed.

I still think he has a role at the club because Gomez will again get injured next year.

I hope we have a proper 3rd centre half ahead of Joel next year though and Joel only plays 1 or 2 games a month filling in for normal injuries and rotation.

If Joel is your 2nd change centre back then you have a good squad. Its a role Ledley King played for Spurs years back. If be breaks down then Fabinho or Hendo can play the odd game.

If hes not being asked to play every weekend then his injuries might not be as often. He juat needs knocking down the pecking order

Top defender but his body is not up to the PL unfortunately.

Best for both club and player that he moves to a less intense league in the Summer I'm sure he will have plenty of clubs interested.
