Great win, great performance all round, great team effort, great pressing.

      Well done lads.

But tell me this... Why does it take a goal or 2 for your confidence to come through? Look a different proposition than the deflated spineless bunch once we score 2.

Kudos to Lallana, Emre and Milner.

Its a shame Benteke doesn't have the attitude that young Origi does.

They are similar players in terms of style, similar build, they're even from the same country. I would say that in terms of finishing ability Benteke is a lot better than Origi, his stats don't lie at the end of the day, and therefore Benteke is the biggest threat and perhaps the better player out the two - at this moment.

So if he just ran the channels and put the effort in like Origi does then he could be some player couldn't he? Unfortunately he would just prefer to stand around and wait for a chance rather than make one for himself though.

Origi got a deserved standing ovation yesterday and that was from the 100% effort he put in while he was on the pitch. Chasing defenders down, bullying them, holding the ball up. Eventually goals will follow too if he keeps putting that effort in. Benteke needs to take a leaf out of his book.  Origis effort yesterday created space and time for the other players and its appreciated by the supporters, the manager, and also his team mates. Its similar to Heskey in a way, we all laughed and took the mick about how sh*t he was because his goal scoring record wasn't very good, but he was a team player and the job he did allowed our more technical players and better players to hurt teams. He was a fan favourite because he worked hard for the team. Origi is similar although I do think he might be capable of banging goals in for fun, we will wait and see on that.

For the record, I thought Benteke did a very good job when he came on yesterday and Kompany really struggled against him so Im not bashing him based on last night, im just saying that if he had put the same amount of effort in that Origi has in recent weeks then he could have been an absolute beast for us.

Sometimes hard work alone wins you games. Look at the 11 we put out last night compared to Citys. Man for man they had the better team. You would never have thought that after watching that game though. Sheer hard work and effort won us that game and Origi played his part. Its a shame Benteke hasn't put in those type of performances for us.

Great Result, Didnt give city chance to pass the ball about like they can, Work rate was outstanding from everyone.

Adam Lallana was stand out player for me though, Love his fight and passion when playing. Definetely deserves a run in the team after that.

What a performance. It makes you think why this isn't replicated every single game, regardless of opponent. Great performance from every single Red who stepped on the pitch. It gives Klopp a great problem to have: what's our best 11? Is it Origi instead of Studge? Or Firmino up top so Lallana can use his work rate in the midfield? Flanno a mainstay now, no more Moreno? And Kolo, playing great, so does he hold his spot when Sakho and Skrtel come back? Or Lucas, does he slide in there or in midfield? Luckily, we Klopp to make these decisions. On to the next, let's make a great run in and put pressure on the teams currently above us!!!

Shame we couldn't do that at the weekend.

Did Pellegrini actually blame fatigue after the Champions League game, sunday and then having to play midweek too?! We've had 3 games in less than a week!!

Fantastic result and at least we practically ruined their title chances now. Great response to a poor result in the cup.

Boss to see Flanno back too, just knew when saw he was starting that we would win.

That performance must be a bit baffling to the "our players are all sh*te" brigade.

Massive credit to the players and the manager for showing so much pride and making such a strong statement after Sunday.

Lallana MOTM, closely followed by Can, Milner and Firmino. But the whole team played well, only Hendo still looks a touch below par.
(Felt so much better having 2 decent full backs on the pitch as well.)

Just got to watch the match. Brilliant all round. Lallana motm for me as well, they just couldn't contain him. Thought they were supposed to do that to us. Haven't got near this season have they.
My one and only criticism is ...........

Why can't we perform like this every game ?

Just an incidental that I meant to post last night but did anyone see the replay of that early Flanno tackle on sterling, the camera angle from the corner flag showed Hendo immediately clap and say yes!

      Quality that.

      +1 Hendo.

Edit: towards the end of this, for some reason they cut it off.

Sterling leaves his 2nd foot in there on purpose to try and fool the ref I think.
