Liverpool 3-0 Man City: In game and Post Match debates
      Mar 02, 2016 07:01:17 pm

Reds arrived at Anfield this afternoon

      https://twitter.com/LFC/status/705101554475466753

Starting XI: Mignolet, Clyne, Toure, Lovren, Flanagan, Henderson, Can, Milner, Lallana, Firmino, Origi.

Subs: Ward, Skrtel, Moreno, Allen, Ibe, Coutinho, Benteke.

Jürgen Klopp makes five changes for Liverpool’s Barclays Premier League clash with Manchester City at Anfield this evening.

The boss drafts Divock Origi, Dejan Lovren, Jon Flanagan, Adam Lallana and Kolo Toure into his starting line-up from the team deployed at Wembley on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Martin Skrtel returns to the matchday squad for the first time since December following injury.

I was hoping he would give a couple of the young lads a chance, but whatever.

Still have the same problem with the midfield tbh.

Strange situation, seems like last night we were playing them, lets see how it goes. Feeling an odd kind of excitement because I'm still getting over the last game.

Klopp said Sturridge isn't injured, just keeping him out as a precaution. Danny wanted to be included but Klopp said no.

No point risking him. The last thing we need is for him to get injured tonight and he misses our Europa league games.

More worried about the Lovren-Toure partnership at the back.  Doesn't fill me with any confidence whatsoever.

Struggle with any combination of the midfielders currently at the club though.

I can understand him resting Sturridge - hopefully thats all it is.

      Delighted to see Flanno in.
Origi's performance will be important for us - big ask/opportunity for him - hopefully he'll have a good one.

I'm surprised, and disappointed, not to see Joe Allen start. He'd bring a different kind of energy, and ball retention to a midfield that has looked bland to put it politely. Also, Joe always shows up and plays well for the Man City games.

Great to see Flanno again, although I wish he was lining up against Sterling and showing him the business. I think goals will be hard to come by for us. Hopefully, I'll be proven wrong.
