      Pre-Match: Liverpool v Stoke Sun 10th April 16:00 KO
      Apr 08, 2016 07:42:51 pm
Hendo's out for 6-8 weeks so now is a chance for Allen to have a run in the side, I'd keep a similar team to what played against Dortmund.

Emre Can will miss the game as he serves a 2 game suspension for picking up 10 yellow cards this season.

      Mignolet

      Clyne
      Lovren
      Sakho
      Moreno

      Lallana
      Milner (c)
      Allen
      Coutinho

      Firmino
      Sturridge

Subs: Ward; Toure, Smith; Rossiter, Brannagan; Ibe; Origi.

      I think we'll win this one 3-1..

Didnt notice this thread so will delete my post

After the Lord Mayors parade we have the small matter of a game against the Potters.

In years gone by the suspension of Can and the loss of Henderson in midfield would have been a disaster for us but fortunately Stoke no longer play that way.

With one eye on the Dortmund game on Thursday I would rest Coutinho and not sure if Lucas is back but having said that he is pretty useless in a midfield 2 so I would go with the following :

      Migs
      Clyne
      Lovren
      Sakho
      Flanno

      Stewart
      Brannagan

      Ojo
      Firmino
      Lallana

      Sturridge

No pressure really on either side.
Would expect us to win this one.

Injury to Henderson puts us back to bare bones... this time in midfield. Milner looked knackered at the end of the Dortmund game and probably needs a rest, but I doubt he will get one. Origi ran himself ragged and will probably get bench with Sturridge and Firmino needing game time. If Flanagan is fit and available I would rest one of our full backs and play him... maybe both and give Enrique one last hurrah at Anfield.

                                        Mignolet

           Flanagan        Toure          Caulker        Enrique

                           Allen   Brannagan       Milner

                                   Coutinho
                         Sturridge      Firmino

Not a great side I have to admit , but one that gives us a reasonable chance of winning while giving our players a much needed rest.

Nothing wrong with it if we are not bothering with league position.

Some might think we've nothing left to play for in the League but Stoke are above us and are aiming to have their best ever finish in their PL history and personally, I wouldn't gift aid Mark Hughes or Stoke a steaming turd, never mind 3 points and finishing above us.

We're already depleted in midfield with Cans suspension and Hendos injury and with Firmino still easing himself back after injury, Studge still finding match sharpness the last thing we should be doing is resting Cou or Lallana.

Strong as we can go, keep momentum going, winning is a habit, as is losing, let's keep the winning one going.

Yeah mate I am serious, I think we need to prioritise now. A lot of our players have been playing almost every game. Clyne , Moreno etc etc, while some have played almost every game since whatever injury they have recovered from.

Why have a squad if you aren't prepared to use it when you really need to ?

Yep - want to win vs Stoke, but the return leg vs Dortmund is bigger, we have a squad, why not use it

I agree that the league, sadly, isn't the priority - thought it for a while now.  I wouldn't be surprised if Toure played - be a bit more surprised if Caulker played but yeah any hopes of top four have well gone so it does make some sense.

Still a gamble though.  Even a fully rested defence could be easily dispatched come Thursday.

Would have Clyne, Milner, and Coutinho no where near the team for this one.

Take some fatigue and pressure off of some lads.

      Mignolet
      Flanno-Kolo-Lovren/Sakho-Smith
      Stewart-Allen-Milner
      Ojo-Sturridge-Firmino

      Why not?

All in favour of giving some of the good kids a run like Ojo, Brannagan, Smith and Stewart, maybe even Danny Ward. Flanno comes in for Clyne as well.

Any chance of Lucas coming back for this one?

I have a feeling we might see a special performance from Sturridge who will want to force his way back into Klopp's plans for Thursday's game against Dortmund.

Going for a 3-1 win with Sturridge scoring two of the goals.
