What makes you think Mignolet is gone? The transfer rumour of the arrival of a relatively unknown German keeper? I don't think he's going anywhere

Karius is hardly relatively unknown.

I do agree with your general point though, I don't think Mignolet will leave unless he really pushes for a move away.

Liverpool are close to completing the signing of Loris Karius from Jürgen Klopp’s former club Mainz in a deal worth around £4.7m.

Klopp, who vowed there would be changes to the Liverpool squad this summer in the aftermath of Wednesday’s Europa League final defeat to Sevilla, wants the 22-year-old goalkeeper to increase competition with Simon Mignolet for next season.

Talks between the two clubs have progressed in recent days and a deal for Karius, who spent time with Manchester City as a teenager, could be completed next week.

I've still only watched that one youtube clip of him but I loved what I saw, a keeper saving shots! What is this witchcraft?

Didn't we pay nearly double that for Luis Alberto?  The market has gotten even more crazy since then.... signing a player who can compete for a starting spot for less than 10M is a steal these days!!

Sssshhhh bud, we have imposters in our ranks. 

He must know his chances are extremely high given Mignolet's form.

The only issue I have with this signing is not Karius himself...just John Achterberg. As far as I'm concerned the only person culpable if this one doesn't work out is that man.

Obviously anyone other than Mignolet is an upgrade but I'm not convinced we can't be doing better than this. I've not seen him play but on on the surface this just looks like another big fish from a small pond. Personally I think we should be aiming higher but we'll see.

Arriving at Melwood early next week to finalise the deal.  Should be announced Wednesday/Thursday 

I can confirm that he has a quiff. I'm sure two of his saves on this are down to the Brylcream.

Just watched a very short video on his instagram of a save he made about 3 months ago. Unreal speed to get across his line. I was like where the F**k did you come from

The only issue I have with this signing is not Karius himself...just John Achterberg. As far as I'm concerned the only person culpable if this one doesn't work out is that man.

He's had crazy longevity for someone who's overseen the demise of a few keepers now. Maybe it's like Milton from "Office Space": He was fired years ago but a glitch in payroll means he's still getting a check and showing up to work.

Reading that he will likely miss the first 3 weeks of the season as he will be at the Olympics with Germany? So we may start with mignolet.
