Not trying to be a debby downer...but I don't think a few decent games in a row from Karius means we eliminate interest in a bona fide #1 keeper over the summer. Not advocating we spend the rumored 90 mill release clause for Becker, but Karius has more to prove before we definitively committ to him next year.

Think it's more to do with putting a lid on the rumor for the time being. When your current keeper is performing better, there is just no reason to unsettle him by having this 'rumor' of signing another goalkeeper in the summer float around the media.

Come summer, we may see a different story.

I think we've seen enough to give Karius a real chance over the rest of the season, Mignolet has had his chance and he'll be off in the summer.

Could feasibly see Karius as no.1 if he proves himself, with Ward as the no.2.

Don't know much about Alisson, never seen him play, but I reckon appearing to cool our interest now might work in our favour should we still want him in the summer as it looks like they're trying to wrap up a new contract with a massive release clause.

Karius has definitely been an upgrade on zings and he deserves the gloves for the rest of the season but I'm not quite ready for the big Zkarius love in just yet and would be disappointed if the club do not bring in a bobafide world class keeper in the summer.

He definitely deserves a proper run as Number 1 for the rest of the season,
but Mignolet shouldn't be here at the end of the summer and if Alisson is available (which he is) then it SHOULD be a no brainer.

We're looking a lot more composed at the back now aren't we.

I think the inclusion of Karius and Van Dijk is the main reason.

The lad is looking well better than Mignolet at the moment and long may it continue.

Was a moment yesterday, Karius came out and collected the ball on the ground and whilst still on the ground rolled it straight back out and got the ball moving again in seconds.

Now compare that to Migs, who would have picked up the ball, walked backwards to his goal whilst shouting at the team and waving his arms urgently telling them to move higher up, before inevitably booting it aimlessly up the pitch.

Karius is really enjoying the faith Jürgen is showing in him. He much more confident in his ability than he was. There's been a definite improvement in his shot stopping, although there is still room for improvement o his positioning.
It's a pity he wasn't given the No1 shirt from the start of the season. Even though he made mistakes a lobg run i three team was always the only way he was going to improve.
      He'll continue to improve.

Do we want a new keeper if he carries on playing well ? I am 50/50 on it, still not sure.

Well, we have to replace Migs though(finally). Might as well do it with quality!

I think if a better keeper is available, I would buy him. I would keep Karius as a back-up but he is improving that's for sure.

Glad I don’t have to make that decision. If he keeps carrying on like this he’s probably good enough, but if there’s a chance to upgrade, probably need to do it.

He is decent and no more.

Anyone that thinks we don't need a top quality keeper this summer is fooling themselves.

That's gotta be a step up from what we have been subjected to formerly.

I want two players coughing for every position. It's important that no player feels too safe and becomes lax.

Whether we sign another keeper or not does nothing to discredit the play of this young man since getting the top spot. I really do enjoy the way he has handled his opportunity and run with it. It’s beginning to look like a trend with us (Robbo, Milner, etc.)

Makes me wonder what could have been for us this season if we’d just gone with Karius from the start.

We would have had a few more points that's for sure. I only say a few though think he's a long way of still from being a keeper that gets you 10+.
