Makes me wonder what could have been for us this season if we’d just gone with Karius from the start.

      Indeed.

It should have been that way but for whatever reason Jürgen didn't see it that way.

It's a strange one as anyone who watches football could see Mignolet was never going to get any better and it would be interesting to know the managers thinking behind how he approached it.

      Another game another clean sheet.

With the addition of a fantastic save.

      Improving all the time.

      Outstanding save from Diame today.

      Quite possibly changed the outcome.

How good was it to see a keeper pulling out vital saves at vital times of the game? Agree with Scotia - in that type of game with such few chances that save saw us to the 3 points. Add his world class save against Arnautovich last week and you realise he's had as big a role to play as anyone else in that eleven as of late.

Cracking save kept the scores level. Keep up the great work Loris.

Can anyone remember the last time we had a Keeper that saved us points, rather than costing them?

Brilliant save and another clean sheet.  A dozen or so games to make the NO.1 position his own and at the moment since claiming it he has grabbed the opportunity with both hands and is not giving anyone a chance to remove him.    So far so brilliant.

I think it could have ruined him. It was a panicky back line, prone to individual errors with no leader to boot.

Tell you what, if Karius keeps up this form for the rest of the season then he will be certainly have left Jürgen with a decision to make on if we look for another keeper this summer.

Although saying that, with Mignolet our the door, we will need to buy another keeper regardless, question is if they will be for a number 1 or 2.

He waited for Karius to have his mind in the right state of mind that can make him succeed. I wasn't a fan of Karius but he is winning me save after save.

He needs to continue to improve to be able to say that we do not need a new keeper over the Summer. He's on the right track.

That save, just before half time probably saved us two dropped points yesterday.

If they had made it 1-1 just before half time there is no guarantee we would have come out the stronger in the second half.  They had held out for 40 minutes and our second was probably the result of them being forced to be more ambitious.

Yesterday was his 15th clean sheet in his 34 appearances for us.

Yeah, exactly. Five years ago, if not more given how his form dropped towards the end.

But where are the goals and assists? That’s the only true measure of a player.

I actually think he will get assists over the course of a season with his quick distribution.

missing the most important stat, shot to save ratio.
In all the games this season Karius is around 1/3 better in that department.
I got my stats from Squawka.

So, since Klopp put his confidence in Karius as the number 1 back in January, his record is:

      Games played       12
      Clean sheets         7
      Goals conceded     9

Not a half bad record considering we have played the likes of Citeh, United and Spurs in that short period.

May have given a penalty away (which wasn't really his problem any way) but he did really well otherwise. Made a couple of vital saves to keep them at just the one goal and all the more impressive given that our defence was not exactly watertight today

I did not see the game, was he one on one? I heard from my father he saved two great saves, early on and a free-kick.
