Tbh i wouldn't mind losing Coutinho for loads of money, he's not consistent enough and goes missing.

The problem is we haven't a notion how to replace players.

For that reason he must stay no matter the offer.

It'd have to be a sh*t load of money. Like Suarez-type money if PSG want him.

Everyone knows how rich PSG are, so if they want him, 50m + Verratti would do just fine.

I'd want 50m to 60m at least for him.

My worry is, would we find anyone as good that we could actually get to sign?

I'd be reluctant to sell him even for silly money right now. But as much as he has improved, I'm really not sure he is quite as good as I thought he was a year ago.

Your absolutely right, it's all well and good selling the Torres, Suarez and Sterlings for top whack but when you don't have the spending power to replace them like for like you end up finishing in 7th/8th position every season. There was always a chance we might lose Coutinho if we failed to make Europe, particularly after he signed such a measly (comparatively) contract. They should have ripped that one up and offered him a new one on the basis of him being our most important attacking player alongside Studge (but they didn't).

I don't think Klopp would sign somebody as good as a direct replacement because they would cost just as much IMO as everybody will know we have money (although they do already).

Contracts mean absolutely nothing if a player wants to go they will go.

We shouldn't be thinking about selling Phil.

Although he was one I thought might be a surprise exit this sumer.

I hope Coutinho will stay, but I trust manager to decide what is the best for the team. Maybe Coutinho want CL footy next season and Klopp maybe does't want to keep him in that case. Of course, the offer need to be better than £45 million.

Wouldn't want this in a vacuum, but if it going to happen, we'll need to leverage it toward contenting for league title.

Selling him could fund a top forward who can press and score and a boss central midfielder. Might allow a starting XI that includes Sturridge and Origi, instead of just one. Those two adds plus a left back and cover at center back could put us in a much stronger position to contend.

It's all very well throwing these figures around but the question you have to ask is do you trust us to reinvest the money wisely?

Why the hell should we be bargain basement shopping in the first place? We're the 8th richest team in the world, for Christ's sake. Almost 50% richer than Dortmund. We can afford players he could only dream of there. If all we do is go out and buy more 'basement bargains' then it's just further evidence of FSG's lack of ambition.

Or it could be as the manager has said, he does not give a sh*te about "names" or "status" he cares about players with the right attitude willing to work theyre arse off.  Quite a few big names that I am sure that not only have huge egos but grimace at the thought of doing 3 a-days starting at 7 am in Jürgen's routine.

If the gaffer is getting stonewalled by ownership on money then he will walk, until such a time assume he has a decent budget and will spend the money on what he wants not what you demand or expect.

Trust this manager when he says he has 1st, last, and every word in between when it comes to transfers.
