Chile 4-2 over Panama thanks to Alexis.

Plays for Arsenal but I will always love from his time at Udinese.

US-Ecuador was very enjoyable last night, 2-1 to the US. Great first half from the US, but then both teams had a man sent off in the second and the game completely opened up.

Penalties after 90 between Colombia and Peru.

Colombia should've walked through this one. On the brink now, though.

Proud of the US team. They kept fighting until the end. Lost 3 players for the next game though.

Colombia make it through on penalty kicks.

Today there are two games today, Argentina vs Venezuela and Mexico vs Chile. The US will find out who we are playing on Tuesday.

      SIX!!!

Eduardo Vargas has 4! He was sensational last year and he's again their main man.

Is that the Eduardo Vargas that played for QPR? Always thought he and his Chilean mate Isla were very good players and wasted at OPR.

Freaking Klinsmann playing Wondolowski. Should have just played Dempsey up top and added a 5th mid. No fight in this team right now, pathetic.

I'd have gone with Zardes up top and thrown Nagbe into midfield. Zardes for his complete lack of a touch is at least energetic and has pace -- which is exactly what Bobby Wood had that was causing so much problems for the other teams.

Forgot about Nagbe to be honest but I agree, anyone better than Wondo. He's not ever shown that he is up for big games. It's like Klinsmann wants to be fired.

Wondo does alright in MLS.... but that's MLS. He's consistently proven himself to be crap at the international level. No reason for him to make the squad and not Morris. (Not that Morris is spectacular either, but at least he's energetic.)

I'm really not impressed by Beckerman or Bradley either. Both are serial turnover artists and Bradley while he occasionally makes a big play, usually just wanders around trying to look busy.

Yeah, they're hardly doing anything right.

As much as it sucks to get this beatdown, it's also very deserved when you look at the respective qualities of each team. There is a mammoth gulf in talent.

Klinsmann might not be a good coach, but until the ENTIRE system changes -- from 5-year-olds on up -- there will always be a noticeable gulf between the U.S. and top tier international teams. Firing a manager isn't going to change that. Gotta look at the big picture. It's going to take an entire generation of changes.
