there will always be a noticeable gulf between the U.S.

Still early days in your football journey. Copa America semi should be celebrated IMO. Not many teams could live with Messi on form.

I'm wondering, do USA not have a better keeper than Guzan?

to be fair guzan can't be blamed for last night, messi's free kick would have beaten better goalies than baldy brad.

He should have claimed the ball on the first goal, he hesitated. And yes, Messi's free kick was superb.

Yeah I don't mind losing that, to be honest. We just hope to one day get to a point where we celebrate losing in a semifinal. But that'll take maybe 20 years or so.

Yep, I agree on this. Also, with a stronger keeper at the back, your defence will always play with a lot more authority and confidence. If I had Guzan at the back.. F**k me, I would sh*t myself.

Anyway, didn't know Tim Howard was still playing, thought he retired :O

Haven't seen much of the tournament, thought the US did very well getting to the semi's but just outclassed by a superior Argie team. That free-kick by Messi was superb.
      .
Saw a piece on CNN were they were talking to some US fans who were complaining about the pricing of tickets for the tournament.

The prices were outlandish and that's why the stadiums weren't full. Minimum price for a lot of games was about $85, and in some cities you had to buy a package deal before matchups were announced, which I think lowered some sales.

Try to go to any of those stadiums for a "normal" sporting event though and $85 is cheap. You know NFL prices I'm sure.

This is true. Even preseason is unreal.

I once wanted to price some of the big rivalries, like Bears-Packers, Cowboys-Eagles. It will take YEARS to afford those haha

It's not your biggest or even close to your biggest sport, though, so you would expect that to be reflected in the prices.

Frustrates the hell out of me to see lots of empty seats at any major sporting event.

Still costs the same amount of money to staff and run the event though.

Has there even been a highlights programme or anything on any non subscription channel?

Would have liked to watch something like that - timezones are a killer for Europe to keep up with their tournaments.  World Cups etc they seem to manage it so most games are kicking off by 10pm.  It's been like 1am and 3ams over here.

Nope, it was all shown on that Premier Sports subscription channel. Be arsed paying for that!

Just seen some of the goals on Sky Sports News.

Yeah I think the 10pm kick-offs over here are like the afternoon games. The 1am and 3am kick-offs will be evening games.

So, Higuain, the ultimate bottler in finals? Should have scored when 1v1 tbh.

Argentina should win with the Chileans down to 10 men!

10v10 now. And I'd bet there will be another red before the game ends

Both teams down to ten men, Marcos Rojo sent off now!

The game looks a bit too big for the ref who's officiating.
