I still don't think Sadio really 'wanted' to leave. I reckon the offer from Bayern was too much to turn down for a more than double your money wage, he's earned it and I'll always love Mane BUT I reckon he'll be a bit gutted seeing Salah earning the same with us. I never thought for one minute we'd give Mo that wage I was convinced he was going on a free next summer, I don't believe Sadio thought Mo would get that either.
No way were we gonna offer two 30yr olds that money so something was gonna give.

I’m sure if he’d been offered Mo’s deal then he might have stayed, but last season was his strongest at all levels and even then there was more talk about Salah so I reckon he needed the change.

He admitted in a recent interview that he made his decision last year and informed Jürgen straight away. It's probably why, unlike Mo, there were never any talks about a new contract.

When you look at his last season with us, you really couldn't tell. He gave his all until the very last minute.

If true, and I've no reason to disbelieve it, it makes his pre Paris comments even stranger. I suspect they may have caused a certain level of discord in the camp.

Good on Mane deserves his award and I'm pleased for him winning Afcon, I'm sure if Salah had won Afcon he would have got the award and would have been saying it was his greatest achievement, winning stuff with your country doesn't happen as often as club, so obviously its sweeter.

Let's not pretend that we weren't having these problems at the end of the season when we still had Mane. It's like Robbo said in his interview after the game, it's problems going back to last season. Mane was a great player for us but him leaving isn't the reason we have started like we have because we blew City away in the Community Shield and we had some big wins without Mane last season (I believe he was on the bench when we beat the Mancs 5-0 in this fixture last season).

The type of performances from us at the moment, I doubt would have been any different if Mane was still here because we've played well under par with him in the team plenty of times.

Great player for us but he's no longer here because he wanted to go elsewhere, lets just leave it at that and move on.

The same Mane some here were saying was past his best. He missed the whole month of January as well with AFCON.
