The problem I'd have with him is his end product. He'd only really be useful when we're protecting a lead or when we are against a team who has a lot of possession. Last season he got 1 goal and 8 assists in 37 league games. The season before that he got 4 goals and 2 assists. That's clearly his weakness because he's shown that he can work his arse off for the team.

Could he be the alternative in CM?

Can't say you are wrong about flavor of the month players from tournaments, but

      a) Deschamps has seen something in him despite Moussa just had a very average season in a relegated team.
      b) Klopp who I rate even higher has shown interest for him both at Dortmund and here
      c) he confirmed in the Euro Deschamps was right calling him ; hadn't Griezmann scored the two goals Sissoko would likely have been MotM in the semi-final
      d) imo he'd likely confirm as well Klopp was right recruiting him, if we end doing so
      e) even if he doesn't he isn't much of a risk, just entering his prime, and likely sold at 12-15m max

One thing is for sure- there'll be some high level flip flopping to behold if Jürgen does sign him.  ;D

Indeed. If people though the Mane signing induced some Olympic gymnastics, this will set off a full on Britains got talent acrobatic routine.

I am not saying he is bad Si,just pointing out we should not buy a player just because of his World Cup or European Champions performance. That is why I named Diao and Diouf as examples.

I'm not sure we are interested in Sissoko just because of his Euro performances though Bill.

Can't say I'm overly enamoured if I'm honest, however his performances in the Euro's has been quite impressive, if Deschamps can get him to perform the way he has then I'm fairly confident Jürgen can too,
You can't really judge his form with Newcastle since most if not all of that side were basically sh*te all last season anyhoo,

I'm guessing if Jürgen were to tender a offer if indeed he wants him, that Rafa would fight to keep hold and not want to lose one of his better players.

      Agree :D

Sissoko was playing as a right midfielder for part of the past two seasons so that will skew his stats also.

      Firmly in the "no" corner.

Diao and Diouf are 2 perfect examples of wasted money,Totally agree with you.

Its been clarified a hundred times not just on this forum (but other forums) that Diao and Diouf were signed before the tournament even began! I even remember seeing them being linked in the paper, days before Senegal played France, and Diao had signed a pre-contract on the day of the match.

They were still rubbish whatever you look at it and never deserved to be at this club.

A player Ibe's sale money would suffice to buy is not supposed to be first choice for every game.
Considering how many months Henderson and Allen spent injured or having awful spells since they are here, and Milner was better as winger than as CM, I wouldn't be afraid having an extra central midfielder. He may not be an improvement over Hendo in top form or Allen having his occasionnal excellent game, or Lucas when there are more mobile and creative players to complement him, he may certainly be one over the playing-through-pain Hendo or Joe in invisible mode we had to suffer sometimes or improve the slower than slow midfield we have when Lucas is paired with players not in top form.
Having a more athletic and better header type may also help adapting to those annoying ultra-physical second half of the table teams we regularly have difficulties to beat.

He's looked very good hasn't he Mick, that run then the lad tried to shoulder charge him to take him out of the game and ended up coming off second best. Beastly.

I understand the criticism and reluctance to want to sign him but he's been a stud for France this tournament. I'd take this Sissoko.

Same Sissoko that rocked up for Newcastle the first couple months he played for them.

Only hit that form again after he was flirting with Arsenal a little while ago.

Still swerving him. Hate players like that.
