      Yeah, he's not...

Sissoko turns up to play for about five games a season, if that.

He has had a few good games for France at this tournament, that's true.

But lets face it, if you can 't flog yourself and put in some of your most committed performances for your country at a home tournament then when would you?

There is a reason he has been swanning around as the biggest and laziest fish in a small pond at Newcastle. He simply doesn't perform at a decent level often enough because if he did he wouldn't have been on the slowly sinking ship known as Newcastle.

When we get linked with players like this and people go all in for it I'm genuinely baffled. Does no one associated with this club ever learn from our previous instances of taking inconsistent players for big fees from other Premier League clubs?

Well he must have done something to impress during the season, or surely he wouldn't of made the French squad for the Euro's ?

What's incredible is he is starting games ahead of Kante who won the PL..and to be fair France have not missed Kante at all,  Sissoko has been brilliant.

Had good games in the last 2 or 3 for France in the Euros but that doesn't excuse his horrific performances for Newcastle over the last couple of years.

Don't give me this 'he was in a sh*t team' or 'he had a sh*t manager' nonsense either.  Put Steven Gerrard in any team in the world and he will still be Steven Gerrard.

Sissoko comes across as one of those players who sulks and doesn't give a sh*t if things don't go his way. So it's a massive no for me. Id rather not take 'a gamble'. The last gamble we took was F***ing Balotelli.

So is Steven Gerrard still being Steven Gerrard for LA Galaxy then, is he bollocks? Of course the quality and mentality of the team you play in can have a massive effect and Newcastle until Rafa turned up was a complete and utter basket case of a club, still is to most extents. The interesting thing is how much better this lad has played with good players around him, I'd say he'd be worth a punt for the right price.

Here we go, a few days into pre-season and the Henderson bashing begins again. This time he's not even half as good as a player who hasn't turned in one good performance in the Premier League and disappoints for a team who got relegated.

I don't watch MLS so I have no idea how Steven is getting on but you missed my point anyway. A steven gerrard in his prime still would have been a top player/professional in any team, under any manager, in any circumstances.

Totally disagree about the quality and mentality of the team. Perhaps if you're seven years old then yes maybe its ok to sulk when you lose. But not when your a professional being paid thousands per week.

Maybe not as extreme as Balotelli, but some similarities. Both players probably have something in their locker but pick and choose when they show it.

Well since they used a 4-2-3-1 and they play Matuidi and Pogba in the middle, Sissoko didn't play ahead of Kante as Kante can't play out wide.

Why? It's the going rate now. If Mane is £34 mill, João Mário valued at £40 mill, Palace are willing to spend £32 million on Benteke, and Pogba is £100 million, then £35 million is about right for this player.

How is it about right for a player that has been poor for the last 2 seasons now. If that's the going rate for that player then we've gotten a bargain with Mane who's got 25 goals in 2 seasons + assists.
A £35mill fee cant be justified just because he had a decent International tournament.

Sissoko @ £35m? :D You'd be one of the first to kick up a fuss if we spent anything close to that on him.

Don't be a dickhead, I said it's the going rate. If Mane is £35 million and Benteke is £32.5 million then Sissoko is clearly worth £34 million since he falls into the same bracket. Doesn't mean I want us to sign him, just means that's the going rate these days. The new TV deal inflated all transfer fees.
