      New Ticket Incentives
      Jul 05, 2016 10:17:39 pm
Liverpool Football Club have today announced further details of initiatives that will bring more young and local Reds into Anfield next season.

These plans - made in response to feedback from the club's Supporters' Committee - were first announced in February, with the club pledging to:

      •    Make around 10,000 tickets priced at £9 available across the season to local supporters for every home Premier League game.
      •    Introduce a 17-21 young adult concession for home Premier League games.
      •    Give local people priority access to tickets.
      •    Give local schools 1,000 free tickets to Premier League games across the season.

      Further details released today include:

      Locals' ticket sales

The club's £9 ticket initiative is open to all supporters with an L postcode. Tickets will go on sale online around four weeks before a Premier League game, with each fan able to purchase one ticket per person. These £9 tickets will also be available to supporters with an L postcode for cup matches.

To be eligible to purchase tickets during these sales, fans must be registered on the club's ticketing database. Supporters can find out if they are registered by clicking here. If they are not, they can fill in the registration form.

Members with an L postcode who do not purchase during the Official Members' ticket sales in July and November will have a further opportunity to purchase tickets for Premier League games.

10,000 full-price tickets per season will be sold online separately on a game-by-game basis around six weeks before a match, with supporters being able to purchase one ticket each.

      Young adults

The club's young adult concession will see supporters aged 17-21 (by August 1, 2016) receive a 50 per cent reduction on full-price Premier League match tickets. 20,000 tickets will be made available across the Premier League season to ensure young people have improved access to Anfield.

      Tickets for local schools

Headteachers of 25 schools across Liverpool have been invited to work with the club on ways they can distribute 44 tickets each season to incentivise their students. This means a total of 1,100 tickets will be given away to local schoolchildren across the Premier League season.

All of the above sales are subject to availability and restrictions apply. Click here for a full list of Q&As.

Tickets purchased through these initiatives will be subject to strict matchday checks to ensure they are being used by the intended supporters.

Not a local so I'm not authority,  but this sounds like a good move on the club's part no?

Can't see any sports in America doing this!

Absolutely it is mate but once again it all depends on how it's managed in terms of those locals buying tickets then selling them on at full price.  £9 for a ticket that can be sold on for over £50 is easy money for the touts.

Only way around that is to print the name of the buyer on the ticket and require ID upon entry.

No idea how they'll do it mate but it does say at the bottom of the piece that checks will be made.  Doubt it'll be every one of them, more likely random checks.

It's a great incentive though and fair play to the fans committee and the Club for implementing it.

      Fair dues.

The initial price increase thing last season was a complete farce and the fans did well to shine a light on it.

Can't argue with any of this.

This kind of level headed approach to the clubs actions is not welcome on this forum.

Why hasn't Klopp made Mario Balotelli the captain yet? FFS.
