      UEFA European Under-19 Championship
      Jul 12, 2016 06:36:22 pm
Thought I'd start a topic so everybody can discuss the ongoings in the tournament without having to use other threads.

Ojo has an assist after just 3 mins as his cross gets turned into the net by somebody (not sure if Solanke or if it was a defender).

Solanke with a neat finish to make it 2-0 to England after just 8 minutes.

I bet Klopp's watching with a keen eye tonight. He'll be impressed with Ojo's performance so far if he is.

From what I can gather these are the players who were in that under-17's squad.

      F. Woodman
      S. Howes
      J. Kenny
      D. Fry
      T. Moore
      R. Ledson
      J. Onomah
      D. Solanke
      I. Brown

There's a a few other decent players who were playing for the under-17's back then: Adam Armstrong, Joe Gomez, Lewis Cook and Patrick Roberts.

He always has been mate.  Far more intelligent, knows when to use his pace, when to pass, when to shoot, when to hold it up.  All the things Ibe never developed, just continued to do the same things over and over again.

Still a good core to have stayed together though mate.  It'll change before they hit u21s level as a few will probably go straight into the senior team rather than the 21s.

I guess Joe would have been playing if he hadn't got injured last season.  Is that Lewis Cook the lad from Leeds?  And I've no idea what's happened to Roberts other than making the mistake of going to City far too soon.  He'd probably have been a 1st regular by now if he'd come to Liverpool  :D

It is. Especially when you consider how others will skip age groups, injuries etc.

France score to make it 2-1. Seriously poor marking on that free kick.

I'd put money on Ojo being a senior regular in 2 years if Jürgen has his way.  Or maybe not if the fat Sam rumours are true  ;)

Yes it's the same one. He signed for Bournemouth a couple of days ago, 6m rising to 10m. Robets is currently on an 18 month loan deal at Celtic, got 7 goals in 14 games for Celtic last season.

Rossiter keeps putting himself in the back 4 (5 with him), he needs to get into midfield and offer an outlet to his defence. He's just contributed to a possible chance for France.

That's a good record for Roberts and I believe they wouldn't release him for this tourny as they wanted him in the CL squad.  Celtic play their qualifier tonight.

Ojo got an assist for England's first goal. They're currently 2-0 up with 22 mins gone. Scored their goals in the first 10 minutes.

I thought it was 12pm kick off, just managed to catch we went 2-0 up.

This England team is good at taking the lead but then goes to sh*t in the 2nd half as they put 11 men behind the ball and never seem to attack.

England currently playing in their semi-final against Italy. 17 mins gone and it's still 0-0.

Rossiter is captain and Ojo is on the bench.

Italy went 1-0 up a few mins ago via a penalty after Fikayo Tomori (no idea who he is) decided to make a ridiculously clumsy challenge.

It was ridiculous by Boothroyd. Played his best team in the last group game after already qualifying yet rested people like Ojo for the semi-final. These international managers of ours are thick as pig sh*t.
